Mayweather NEEDS to sign a penalty contract in the case of making the weight as the Marquez fight showed he cannot be trusted.

Manny Pac NEEDS to adhere to all drug testing procedures. It's the right thing to do and a simple "I don't like blood tests" simply does not suffice as an acceptable excuse.

Why is Mayweather requiring as a condition of the fight taking place that Pacquiao submit to drug tests when he did not require Marquez to take drug tests?

That's an interesting question. Maybe because it's Pac that has been going up the weights blowing people away with such ease and Mayweather wants to make sure there are no issues at play. Marquez looked to be up to his limits at 135, but it was his sheer will that got him through. Pac has been blowing through opponents like the wind through leaves. It is impressive, but it leaves you thinking "how does he keep on going up and doing it ever more impressively?". I understand Mayweather wanting to get Pac checked out, and if Manny has nothing to hide, then you would think he would have no issues complying. It's for a mammoth payday and the extra effort involved is really quite minimal.

There is NO good reason to not agree going along with having the same tests that Floyd himself is willing to submit to. Floyd has laid it on the line and said "do this one thing" and Manny is stalling.

Manny is from a third-world part of the Philipines; he probably is superstitious when it comes to drug tests. I know many people faint after taking blood tests and it could easily ruin an afternoon of training. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't conclude Manny is doping because he refuses to take a drug test. However, this fight is too big to let it fall apart because of random drug tests either way. And let's be real here, Manny has to hit Floyd to make the steroids helpful anyway, which he won't do.

If I were Manny's people in order to make the fight happen and assuming Manny really has a legit problem with blood tests, I would negotiate the maximum number of blood tests permitted in a certain period of time, allow them to be at random though, and leave the number of urine tests open.

Will anyone with an actual understanding of the subject explain how blood tests are more accurate than urine tests for detecting steroids? Also, do blood tests up until thirty days before the fight and urine tests from that point going forward make detection of steroids less likely than blood tests all the way through to the fight? Is the difference negligible?

I'm still not persuaded either way. The Pac camp are notoriously difficult to deal with, so I still think it best to let things wait a day or two to see what happens. Is it me or does Pacquiao seem to be trying to get out of this fight?? 1st of all he asks for $10 million for every lbs Floyd is over 147 (which will be none) and now he is refusing the drugs test?? Maybe he is on steroids after all during training, my trainer tells me that nandrolone can be flushed out of your system in 24 hours so the only way to catch someone on that would be under an olympic style testing system and testing just before and after the fight would be worthless!

is nandrolone that easy to hide, i remember a few footballers getting caught on it, edgar davids being one... they argued it was naturally produced by their bodies which is true but only in tiny quantitys in the majority of healthy adults

You right, I was given poor info (i'll have to slap him about now lol). It seems from the websites I have been on to take approx 21 days to be removed completely from the body. Sorry for the false info.

no worries, that shows one of the problems with any alegations regarding PED's .. there is so much contrasting info around and you have people believe that any steroid is a one way ticket to being the size of the hulk .... which just isnt the case

Why should Pacquiao comply? This is just another Mayweather ploy to play head games...Hell if he agrees to the overweight pricing then I am sure Freddie will talk Manny into taking the test....Floyd is scared and to say different is a Floyd nut hugger....

The fact that Pac is the only guy in the history of boxing to storm through 7 weight classes in an era where PED and designer Roids are the rule rather than exception has raised red flags... IF this is true that the fight has been canceled the following statement is true:

"Pacquiao refuses to fight because of a drug test."

That makes me suspicious too. It's not an unfair purse split, the money has been agreed upon. It's not a weight issue, they have a agreed to weight and set a record 10 million penalty per pound. It's not an equipment issue, gloves and ring size have been agreed upon. It's not a location issue, the location has been agreed upon.

You can spin this against Mayweather however you want but the above statement is still true.
