I'll hate Solis forever if he doesn't get a stoppage here. I need the points.

I just don't see anything here to make me think he could beat a Haye or an Adamek. This is pretty dreadful stuff.

Not against Grampa Austin, but if/when he steps up he's going to wish he could punch. He's not going to outbox or outwork guys like David Haye and the Klitschko's.
Concussive power ain't needed to beat Haye. Speed is the key. I think Solis has enough

You actually think this bowling ball of a fighter can beat David Haye?
He has pretty good hand speed for a bowling ball. If Haye can't hurt him than Solis walks through him
His handspeed is okay, I like the way he places his shots, and he's by no means a terrible fighter, I just don't see anything in him that makes me think he can compete with the division's best.

Looks Solis just going through the motions. Which for him is still enough to win

How is this performance any worse than Adamek against Michael Grant though? Austin is a more credible opponent than Grant and Solis is winning every round.

He's a big step up from Vinny Maddelone.

I've never once mentioned Adamek, so I don't see how that is a valid point. For what it's worth, I'm far from sold on Adamek as a legitimate heavyweight, I don't think he'll beat anyone of note either.

    haha what a farcical ending

Do you get the points for that Ouma?

I guess Miles would be outraged at that DQ for a punch after the bell that didn't even land.

I think he beats Adamek. Adamek was rocked by Michael Grant. Haye was dropped by Monte Barret. Solis can get to these guys and wear them down imo. His work rate is a problem but I have a feeling he will be like Chris Eubank and rise to the challenge in front of him.

Certainly he's easily winning this fight and Austin is no mug. Aside having a nightmare against Wlad his resume isn't bad. He's rarely been an easy night's work for anybody.
I dont see him wearing down much of anything though Bilbo. Except my bar tab. Arreola rocked Adamek too but he has enough to move and force Solis to fight. He just does enough here, only when he has to...wont have that convenience vs top dogs. He looks like he wants to be somewhere else really

Austin should be sitting in the locker room by now and though Eubanks could be out hustled, and lost some that he "won" he had a true confidence in there, and a different kind of one punch power.

Since when does beating Valuve, Harrison and Barrett make one the divisions best? There's a difference between the divisions best and the divisions most talented.

That dq was the right call

You've got to be fucking kidding me.

I'm blaming this on Solis. Seriously, you've got an out on his feet 40 year old that was never very good and you still can't finish him?

All of that aside, he's just not very good.

So with this eliminator Solis gets a shot against Vitali.

    We agree there then.

My point is that the only fighters I see as performing as well as Solis are the Klitschko's, Haye, Adamek and Povetkin.

He's definitely a contender and I've never seen him in trouble.

What I don't get though is that Adamek was praised for his life and death win over Michael Grant, a fighter so chinny that he was actually KO'd by Dominic Guinn.

Haye never looked like a world champ to me against Monte Barrett or Nikolay Valuev, and he's been floored by Carl Thompson and Jean Marc Mormeck.

Solis is a step above those guys. I think he can take Haye into the deep waters and test him, Adamek too.

I can't see him beating a Klitschko but he's got as good a chance as any of the others.

I'd take him over both Haye and Adamek. I think Povetkin outworks him though unless he gets in shape.

Chambers might do well against him too.
