I give Peterson all the credit, but yeah, Holt didn't have much in return after the 3rd round.

Holt is done at the championship level, I can't see him giving any of the elite @140 a problem.

Good to see Peterson back with a nice performance

Once Holt got dropped off that right is was pretty much over

Just barely hanging on the last few rounds

@Master - Peterson dominated this one from the 4th round on, knocking Holt down, giving him a shellacking, and stopping him in the 8th round. Not a bad fight if you want to check out the replay.

    cheers

Totally. Hate to say it but Holt looked like he only packed for 4 rounds or so. Peterson took care of biz, well done. Frank interview from Holt and honest about status, glad to hear that from a solid pro.

Don't think it has much to do with peterson bein much better all of the sudden, more to do with the opponent.
True, Holt wasn't competitive after the 3rd round.

Yup, about the only excuse Holt offered was he should have made more of a war out of it early, and the layoffs hurt him. Holt made $12,500 (according to Fat Dan) for tonight's fight, that's probably the biggest payday he'll get from boxing again. Like he said, it may be time to hang 'um up.

Only $12,500, that is a joke, he should make way more than that, why the low rate, managers, fees, tax?

ESPN FNF can't afford to pay that much, that's the main reason, but actually Holt was fortunate to get that.

Yes their budget is low, but I agree with Master that is BS paying a guy so little for a heavily promoted FNF main event World Title fight. He deserved twice that at least.

Holt couldn't come back after he got hurt, but boy did he show a ton of heart for a guy who is "mentally weak" according to Teddy.

Too bad Holt couldn't land anything big to get back into the fight. Was rootin for him.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Holt is one of those good fighters who can never take it to the next level. I'd hoped he'd win a 2nd title but it was not to be, best of luck to him in the future.
