Hurd trying to impose his will. Credit to Lara for not letting him
Hurd may burn quick career wise but he's fun TV. The guy is a bully. Lara stabilized last round but has to feel he's free beeming golf balls at a tank.
Close fight. I think I still got Lara up. But not sure
"Cojones" the size of basketballs.
And it all catches up , tremendous grit and guile by both. Lara withstood a shelling last round and gave right back.
Damn. Not sure who won that. That knock down change things. Great fight
To close to call.
They live, We sleep
SD........ fair decision.
Well..shit. Sounds like a rematch to me. Outstanding scrap by both. Hurd a tough nut and needs to keep his head.
Can't argue with that. I had Lara by one. But the knock down did it
Well..... as a fight prognosticator....... I think I'll keep my day job.
Went 1-3 only because Hurd scraped out the split decision.
Thoughts about the fights:
Williams pleasantly surprised me. I thought he might be a bit burned out, and would yield to the fresher Gallimore. I was wrong.
Patricia Morse Jarman continues the tradition of bad women judges. Sorry to sound sexist.... but with a small sample size, they're not doing themselves any favors. No way it was 114-114.
2nd fight. For some reason I had picked Truax. Truax SUCKS.
Finally... Hurd bailed me out, but giant kudos to Lara for making it a hell of a lot closer than I thought it would be.
The 1st and 3rd fights were excellent. The 2nd fight was ugly.
Hats off to both guys anyway. I wasn't expecting to see an exciting Erislandy Lara fight. It's a shame PBC is so stop start and still has so many star versus opponent type main events. Particularly when they've got so much talent signed up and kicking their heels.
I still had Lara winning even with the knockdown. Guess he'll have to settle for the moral victory holding his own against a guy that looked like at least a super middle tonight.
It's unfortunate but I guess the direction the game is going in where more often than not a deficit of skill is erased by size and flash.
Also gotta say I wasn't happy with Bayless allowing those forearms and elbows on the inside.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
