Agreed my Klithead Nemesis, agreed. I'm in the minority amongst my friends, but I like South Park better than Family Guy. In that two-parter, they hit the nail on the head about Family Guy and it's random jokes. Also Kyle and Cartman had their "Final Battle" "Cowabunga MotherFuker!"

I read a book by a British guy that had a good grasp of the Monty Python humor.

Gideon Dafoe "Pirates Adventures with _____", they do Adventures with Cowboys, Darwin, Captain Ahab, etc....it's got pretty funny stuff in there

Nope dead parrot sketch is not funny. The very fact that you slate family guy for being too random then suck at the very teat of randomness that was python. Cleese was only funny in Fawlty Towers.

For example

It's like that EVERYTIME...at least Monty Python did stuff unpredictably
