I played baseball for 15 years and went all the way to AA league here in Puerto Rico. I will never say that if you did not played baseball never in your life will know how good players are and what they can do or don't if you know who they are and study for a couple of years their development of course you can provide comments and your take on what could be an outcome. Is easy for me to say people "bahh you don't know nothing about baseball because you don't know how to bat a 85 mph curve" blah blah blah because you never done it ... it is just not right
If you are a Baseball Fan since you where a Kid and seen a lot of players in and out and their development and how good they are with Left hand pitchers and right hand pitchers and pitches or curves that he can bats the best or get strike out you cannot comment nothing about Baseball even if you are a fan since a Kid ? hhummm

I used to box in summer camp but that was that and when I was 15 we use to put gloves and made a circle and bang away. but thats is not boxing at all but what I have learn of watching Boxing lets me know a lot of the fighters and what they can do to the other. I know that if you are a banger and never really box you know with side to side movement you probably don't really know much because you don;t know how to fight like that so my questions are..... What can you bring to the table?

Did you know that Cotto's trainer never boxed? all his family did but Cotto's trainer and uncle never boxed. yes he helped with mits and stuff but thats that. He is a good example of knowledge that can be produce by watching and studying, doesn't mean that I'm an expert but some of us non-boxers have valid comments to provide.

Anyway stop talking crap because you boxed a little and worst never became a pro like some here are and are no wyning.

your Links dont go anywhere for some Reason ..but if u box under USA boxing rules (the same rules that r under the state titles & golden gloves) there is no draws

    http://boxing.about.com/od/amateurs/...ur_rules_4.htm

and California is Under the USA boxing rules like the other 49 states, ONLY in AIBA duel matches is there ever a draw possibility ..aside from that theres absolutley NO draws or ties

Ha, Ha. Ha. Damn, that was funny. That's your exposure. There are ties in amature boxing. Read the following link. http://sportsrules.50g.com/boxing.htm Paste it on your browser and hit enter if you can't click it.

Also read the California rules, which is were I'm from. Chapter 3. Amature boxing. http://www.dca.ca.gov/csac/laws/regulations.htm#620
I think you just exposed yourself.
i saw your "california rules ....you forgot to read this part in the begining of the "amature boxing" section
    - 601. PROFESSIONAL BOXING RULES APPLY.
The rules of the commission pertaining to professional boxing shall apply to amateur boxing unless the club or organization obtains a law and rule waiver under Section 18646 of the code or the professional boxing rules are inconsistent with these Amateur Boxing Regulations or the provisions of the Boxing Act pertaining to amateur boxing.

...USA amature rules would be the organization that waiver the pro rules (which would be the Ties) ...also most of those rules on your CA. page were ammended or repealed cause there from 1989 so i have no idea why ur using those as a base of information

USA Boxing rules is the amature system in the US

http://www.usaboxing.org/20042005Rul...%20rules%22%22 <--entire USA rulebook ...(if you box you have a "USA" passbook so these are ur rules ,not that other thing u sent me

Keep in mind my bouts took place in 1987-1988. At the age of 10 and 11. During the end of 3 bouts, I was told there was no winner. So I consider it a draw. It's that simple.

Can they do that in the USA?

In our Amatuer shows there has to be a winner, if they can't agree on points they have to give it to some one based on Style, Leading off and Defense.

It's more like the way a Pro round is judged.

What are/where the fules for Amatuers of it's even on points in the USA?

I've had a little over 20 backyard boxing matches against 6 opponents. We go 3 one minute rounds with 12 oz gloves, no hand wraps, no mouthpiece, no headgear. Only been dropped once, by a body shot and that was when I was first learnin how to box. Outta the 20 fights I've lost twice and had probably 3 or 4 draws. Got a couple stoppages, but only a couple. It's hard to KO or drop somebody thats your size or bigger in such a short time with 12 oz gloves. Used handwraps once and thats a fukin world of differnce compared to not usin em. Feels like you gettin hit with rock, because the fist and wrist are so much tighter and harder. Used headgear that time too, but that was the only time I've used the headgear. Backyard boxing is fun and anyone can do it, so I suggest you guys who've never fought try it least once or twice.

Thought this would end up in "lets get it on" the first time I saw the thread. Didnt make it there, yet. Anyway, only boxing ive done is that 'back yard' stuff. Bought a pair of 16oz gloves back in college. Had a few friends that were ready to go. I am 6'4" and weighed about 250lbs at the time(abit fat, yes). I was the biggest so it wasnt really fair. But they were willing. One guy I just jabbed in the stomach and he flung his gloves off and quit. What a baby! Another guy(he thought he was a white Mike Tyson) well he should have removed his ear ring 'cause it got ripped out of his ear and his face was all purple after we got done. Another guy, i dont know, he didnt have 'hands of stone' but rather a face of stone. This dude was drunk beyond belief, I 'talked' him into boxing that night. I hit this guy with everything I had. Guy was spinning from the punches and falling onto the back of cars(we were in a parking lot). Me and my roommate went to see him the next day just to get a laugh. Figured he would look like a train ran over him. This guy didnt have a mark on him. Still cant figure that out. And finally my good ole roommate, paid him 5$ to box. I thought Id just lay him out pretty quick. Had a good 6' on him and 50lbs. Didnt work out that way. We boxed a good 5-6 minutes(boxing?well bum fighting style). I did knock him down twice(he said he slipped) and he had a nice black eye. I ended up with my gums bleeding and a head pounding like I was over drinking with wacko the night before. I dont want to be a boxer. I like my brain cells too much!

Or Tall ass James Toney. Either way boxin somebody that is severely overmatched and/or drunk is messed up in my book.
