i thought it was a gd contested fight with wood winning it in the closing rounds but i was impressed by johnson as this is the first time ive seen him i didnt no wot to expect but i was suprised by the power he managed to throw in his punches right up to round 9 which wood took realy well but my point is im suprised he's picked up so many losses as i cant see many fighters dealing with him. So wots the deal with him is he just an average fighter that got lucky wins over jones nd tarver or does he underestimate alot of opponents

Yes, I pay credit to Woods chin.
    No agender here.
I just dont think it was a spectacular defence of his belt.

I like to see a champion being forceful and holding the centre of the ring. Dominating almost.

    Woods didnt.

I'm not sure there were too many people who were expecting a spectacular defence, of the title, and Woods is not the kind of fighter to go toe to toe in the middle with somebody stronger than him, and who is better at it than him. He played to his strengths, and beat a fighter who had an unlucky draw and a victory over him. Johnson was also the man, after Tarver's destrucion by Hopkins, who was probably the biggest challenge to him at light heavy.

I never said that. No since lying when I've said enuff real stuff to incrimnate me anyhow. I did say Lacy would beat Calzaghe, but he did not, and I did say Mayorga would beat Oscar, and he did not. I also said Cotto would beat Malinaggi, Bernard would defeat Tarver, Mosley would beat Vargas both times, etc. You lot of Brits all cheer and throw it in our faces that Hatton BEAT Collazo, and act like Hatton actually won the fight. You also claim that Calzaghe is unbeatable from 168-175, and Bernard, and Johnson have been dodgin him for years, which is laughable. So, no I don't hate all British fighters, just hate your condescending attitudes about them and their American opponents.

never really see any brit throw it any ones face that hatton 'beat' collazo lol coz jardly anyone in amreica give him any respect untill after that fight lol

well calzaghe is the ebst 168, clinton is the best 175, so if u dissagree with calzaghe being unbeatbale atm from 168-175 u think clinton can beat him o0?

imo hopkins doged him for yrs, had every thing he asked for, the fight even in the usa, then double his amount to $6mill at the last min, i mean jesus who did he think he was lol had like 2 good wins in tito and maybe johnson then (not sure if johnson was after)

never seen any one say johnson had avoided calzaghe tho...

No one remembers such class threads as "HATTON NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!!" and you all sayin, who cares if Collazo got jobbed, officially Hatton won, that's all that matters. Fukin Calzaghe ain't even in the same league as Bernard Hopkins. Bernard IS the best LH in the world, Not Clinton Woods. Bernard defeated the best LH, Antonio Tarver, who was more of a dangerous opponent for him than Joe Calzaghe, and more proven. Stop just makin crap up, its ridiculous. Point is UK is much smaller than the US, so they are not gonna produce near as many great fighters. You've got Hatton, Calzaghe, and that's about it. Harrison and Woods are good fighters, but not best at their weight class.

Hello, first post so go easy fella's! I was at the Woods/Johnson fight and I thought Clinton shaded it but hey, I'm no expert. My eyesight aint too good either as I never noticed Hatton in Woods corner! Very interesting to read the posts in this thread about the fight. I think Calzaghe would beat the both of them and hasn't Bernard retired in any case? JC can boss the LH division for a couple of years imo when he moves up but I think he'll struggle to get the fights as he can make good pro's look so bad with his speed and stance.

As for Khan, he needs to cross the pond and box some rounds v a few durable old sweats as sooner or later he's gonna come into a battle and have no well to dip into.

Good show and Woods/Johnson was absorbing stuff, well done Clinton. Any news on the protest from Glencoffe's camp?
