2nd episode tonight was the cruising episode! it opens up with the legendary scene of james dean in rebel without a cause chicken racing off the cliff.

daniel stern then says: in order to be a star you gotta have a car!

so Kevin and crew help the oldest cat in the class whos been held back twice in the 3rd grade studying for his license exam since hes the first to turn 16. he passes and they all go for their first LIBERATING DRIVE on a friday night!

we can relate to this one!

I haven't read this whole thread so i apologize if this has already been asked or mentioned. But I was curious if any knows if the Wonders Years seasons are out on DVD. This was also one of my favorite shows as a kid, and I would love to get the DVD's if there out.
Down here in Florida they play reruns at 10 and 1030 on one of the channels and I'm always watching them.
Last nights episode was when one Kevins friends got his driver license and kevin decided to ride around with his buddies instead of going on a date. Not a bad episode, but then again most of the episodes were great.

to answer your question.... NO its mostly due to all the MUSIC used in the show. because each episode was packed with such classic 60's 70's music the producers have to pay royalties for each song to the artists it gets real ugly and blah blah blah. so thats whats putting the dvds on hold.

personally id be heartbroken if they took out or switched the songs cuz the music was a PROFOUND HUGE IMPACT on how special the show was made IMO

No shite really?? That sucks man. I agree also the music plays a huge part in show. With all the legal mubo jumbo do you think they will ever come out with them on DVD with the real music, your personal opinion? Thats funny that way over there in the west they had the same episode on.

well again ill be REAL enough to admit im a fan of beverly hills 90210 thats what inspired me to work/move there in my mid 20's. so i was excited to finally get the 90210 dvd. but i have to admit the music does make the show. they replace all the cheezy 90's classic hits with unknown loser bands that no one gives a F about.

so in wonder years case, it would even be more tragic. cuz the music in wonder years is even that much more crucial in making the show so great.

tonights episode gramps gets in 3 accidents in like 3months so the 5-OH takes away his license. so kevin drives him back to his crib and gramps tricks him and drives illegally and almost gets them into another accident. they stop every 5miles to get fruit/pie and groceries. finally the get back to gramps crib and he offers kevin his car for only $1 dollar!

so kevin buys his ride for $1


this episode made me a bit sad to be honest cuz its like how they gonna have their gramps live solo all alone in his own crib with no friends/no family and now no car

i think when i get to his age imma have to like live in palm springs where im surrounded by pimp cribs and old schoolers like myself

2nd episode tonight was the one where they had the cool inspirational teacher MZ SHAW!

MZ SHAW was a OG liberal teacher who was just one year out of grad school and did not believe in following the school curriculum and didnt make the kids read the boring asss required books but more so interesting appealing books such as catcher in the rye etc.

she also didnt give grades but instead: PASS or FAIL

the school got on her for that so she then told the class to grade themselves!

then the principal gave her an ultimatim which led to her sticking it to the man and she just grabbed her shit and took off right in the middle of her class lol! now thats gangsta!

she said its not important what i think of you to a student, but what you think of yourself. thats real talk!

this episode reminded me of my favorite teacher: SENOR HECTOR! Senor Hector was the MAN! SMART and WISE as FUKKK! he was like a poor mans version of antonio banderas and he really got us to learn and open up. he even made the bimbo soriety hoes in our class realize how important education was. he didnt believe in us the students kissing his asss to earn an A. he said if you are too concerned about getting an A then you are missing the point of his class. the point of his class is to LEARN and not to earn grades. so basically if you genuinely tried to LEARN he would give u an A despite what u actually scored on the final and midterm.

this man was the shiiiiiiit. really cultured and educated about many different cultures and fields of education and life. real inspiring teacher! he would have us meet at like cuban restaraunts and cool pimp spots instead of meeting in our class.

he even hollared at a lady who walked into the cuban spot while still teaching his class all at the same time! now thats PIMP!

So I watched both episodes last night at 10 (Thebestp4p.. the station it plays on here is called ION, is that what it is over there?)

The first episode was Kevin wanted winnie to hook him up with one of her friends so he could take her to the dance and in return Winnie wanted kevin to talk to another boy for to take to the dance, well to make a long story short they double date to the dance and what do you know Kevin and Winnie start having feelings once again for each other and they ditch the other two they went to the dance with and drive out to some lookout spot, and like always in the background there was some good musice playing cant think of the song but it made the sceen that much better. I love the voice inside of Kevins head it always at the end of each episode leaves you with some good words of wisdom.

The second show was good but I didn't think it was as good as the first one. It was about a star basketball player that was making Kevins High School Bball team unstoppable until they get to the state tournament. Kevins Dad goes with him to the game and kevin had been ranting and raving how good this team was and everything so his dad went to the game with him and the team ends up loosing. My favorite part was at the end where kevin and his dad are at some dinner having coffee and Kevins Dad says "it easy being a hero" I thought that was classic.

Man everytime I watch these shows I really wish they would bring it out on DVD becaus I know i would cop ever season.

aiight boys and girls tonights first episode was the lunch cafeteria episode. the whole episode was about what goes down in kevins lunch period. from all the different clicks, to hollarin at the hoez, the popular kids, the geeks, kevins crew and believe it or not............seth green and his thug friends lol!

wayne also gets dared $20 to find out what MANIAC's REAL NAME IS? and it turns out its: FLORENCE lol but MANIAC aka FLORENCE threatens wayne and says if u tell anyone ill kill you and pulls out a shank!

so wayne ends up losing the bet and payin everyone he lost to.

seth green and thug crew pressure kevin to ditch 7th period to go see a XXX movie and they end up walking out only to get caught by the principal and they flip the script and make it seem like they was going to give blood so they give blood and seth green passes out hahaha.

seth green has his hat on backwards and was trying to act hard for this episode LOL

kevins boy gathers up the courage to hollar at some ho and the girl agree but he F'd it up by pressuring the date and she changes her mind cuz he gets all nervous and starts shaking out of control lol.
