Hopkins is coming off TWO massive victories.
Hopkins is champ of LHW (much more prestigious than SMW) and was a longstanding champ at MW( also more prestigious than SMW).
Yes Calzaghe is a great fighter, but number 1 P4P? Come on mate u cannot be serious. Top 5 yes but 1?
Calzaghe needs Hopkins on his resume more than Hopkins needs Joe on his, thats why he can call the shots.
Are u gonna chastise this man Superheavyrhun? Or do u agree?
i dont know about that .... I'm sure if we went back and looked at any of your predictions and P4P list like the famous casamayor at what 3 or 4... your comments are the most biased, unfactual load of sh!t on here and everyone on here knows it....Originally Posted by Violent Demise

hopkins beat tito a welterweight, DLH a welterweight, winky a 154..
he fought middleweight jermain taylor and middleweight RJJ and for some reason those fights went a little different....
Joe would slap B-hop from one side of the ring to another...
before the calzaghe haters jump on me i think joe is 4, P4P and B-Hop is 5........ but i think kessler is a harder match up for joe....
Its funny how u call VD biased then go off on a fanboy rant.Originally Posted by Fire
Hopkins is a top 5 MW of alltime.
DLH was a MW champ.
Tito destroyed Joppy a good MW in the fight before Hopkins, and was actually favourite before the fight.
Wright was top 5 P4P when Hopkins fought him and would beat almost anyone at 170.
Hopkins came up from 160 to beat the number 1 guy at 175 in Tarver, he was the underdog in that fight also.
Calzaghe would most probably beat Hopkins at this point in time, but BHOP has the better legacy and that cannot be denied.
Im not a Joe hater, but u are obviously a BHOP hater.Originally Posted by Fire

Well i not getting in to it with legacy and all that but i have to disagree with a few thing Winky i would not do well at 175 pounds to much weight and he lose to some champions at LH. Then there is Trinidad he did alright but besides Joppy he got killed at the weight. Oscar should of never even been a champion at the weight and should not even had fought Bernard but that being said B hop has a good legacy but out Oscar and Trinadad wins he would of been not even near what he is today and both Oscar and Trinidad were just to far out of there weight classes to tell you the truth and so was Winkey at Lightheavyweight he looked way out of shape at 175 he is good at Middleweight but 175 he is just to fat at that weight to tell you the truth.
He called Calzaghe p4p #1. If you agree with him than your just as stupid as he is. Either that or your a massive Calzaghe groupie.Originally Posted by Fire
Trinidad KTFO a MW champ in Joppy, who went the distance with Hopkins and Taylor, nad beat a top contender in Cherifi. Hardly out of his depth at 160.Originally Posted by Mr140
Winky didnt fight at 175 he fought at 170, closer to SMW. Now tell me how many SMW would beat Winky? Not many.
As for Oscar, yeah he shouldnt have been champ, but he was easy a top 5 guy at MW.
Did you see the shape Winky was in eagle he looked bad at the weight he fought Hopkins is at he is still a good win but god damn he just should not fight over Middleweight. And Trinidad is just not the same he was at lighter weights and well we agree on Oscar but then you can also bring Hagler but to tell you the Truth i think Duran and Hearns were better at the weight then Oscar and Trinidad but what ever Hopkins is still a great but he opposition was not that much better then Joe's it was better but it does not tower over Joe's for me at least.
Yes i saw Winky at that weight, he was still a good fighter who was made to look bad by a better one.Originally Posted by Mr140
Winky did not look ad considering he took a one time payday for a fight several weight classes above where he resides. Hopkins is very good however I had the fight much closer than others and felt that B-Hop got away with tactics that would have resulted in several points had it been someone else.Originally Posted by eagle
Winky should never have went up there, but he did it for the money and I think he made Winky fans proud with his display. I was very pleased.

And again, the beat goes on and we make another full circle. The basic facts, in my view, is that there are faults with both fighters and their respective backroom teams, and leaves both sides open for criticism.Originally Posted by eagle
This isn't 20 years down the line, this is an almost constant barrage of criticism right now, so I'd settle for everyone shutting up for 20 years and if the criticism were to start then, we'd see what he'd done with his last few fights.
You criticise "fighters like Joe" for being about the money, yet Hopkins is widely reported to have doubled his demands in a meeting in 2002 to make the fight. I'm sure there's more criticism going Joe's way on this one. And yes I do deny what you say.
I have my own issues about Hopkins' legacy, but that has more to do with the way he fights than his victories, which are admittedly good.
Everyone has different yardsticks for measuring p4p status, and I don't have Joe at #1. If all fighters were scaled to the same weight division, we'd have, in my opinion:Originally Posted by eagle

To be honest, I thought they both looked bad. Stupid judging said B-Hop schooled Wright, which was bollocks. I couldn't have argued with a close decision either way in that one. For me though, that fight did nothing for Hopkins stock. He was extremely negative throughout the fight, and it makes me not want to watch Calzaghe fight Hopkins. It's a shame Pavlik is so damn good, because he got in the way of the Calzaghe-Taylor match I want to see.Originally Posted by eagle
