DLH weight drained, agree.
Hatton not Elite, Disagree
Cotto fighting stupid, agree but disagree.
DLH's a no brainer.
Hatton wasn't good enough to beat PBF and Pac. He was still elite, if he's not, then elite is a very very small number of people. He was considered the man at 140 going into both fights If memory serves.
Why did Cotto not fight stupid against Zab, or Alfonso Gomez?

Pretty much what Memphis said,
Oscar looked terrible, a shell of himself.
Hatton definately elite, he was P4P top10 beat all comers in his weight class, two weight world Champ, only beat at welterweight previously to Manny, and only lost to the then P4P No1.
Cotto, now before the fight i always said Manny would beat him although many disagreed and had Cotto being too big, too strong, and way too savvy for Manny..... wrong on that night. Manny sussed him and made him pay. Cotto done nothing different to what he had always done, he was just simply beaten by the better man.
Manny continues to suprise me and it now would not suprise me to see him beat Floyd![]()

I don't mean to put down Hatton or his fans...they both are a spirited bunch...but Hatton was not an elite fighter. He has never been a truly GREAT fighter and in the last two years has physically declined tremendously (the Maweather fight was the last straw). He always ballooned up and down way too much between fights, add to that he was a very one dimensional fighter...you can see why he was handpicked by Roach for Manny. You don't have to take my word for it...Roach himself said the same things before the fight. Not saying all of this to put Pac down either...he beat a legit 140 pounder. Just saying it was not as incredible a win for Pac as some try to make out.
re
I agree.
Now,
About who wins:
Look at what happens when Pac sees he can take a boxer's punches. He just lays in there with blinding combinations. Take any fight you want. Even Cotto.
But it is only effective if the fighter is weakened or softened enough by punches that he cannot think or defend himself properly. (marquez fights)
I am quite sure that Pac can take PBF's strongest punches. The question is can he soften or weaken Floyd.
If Floyd can't keep him off somehow, Pac will win. Judges like his style.
So i believe Pac wins either by decision or KO. PBF can only win by split decision or UD.
But i hope Pac can soften him up so we can see a real fight.![]()

I think alot of Cotto's problem wasn't that he fought dumb it was the fact that he was tricked by Pacquiao. The 2nd KD which changed the course of the fight was a result of Pacquiao playing possum and turning Cotto against the ropes. As for Pacquiao's success against Mayweather choosing to run I have a strange feeling he will simply not follow. (I saw hints of this in the Cotto fight). I think that he will be instructed to not lead nor counter but to pressure Mayweather until he is forced to exchange. Hatton had success at catching up to Mayweather but did not possess the handspeed, combinations or in-out angular movement to avoid being clinched. Once Mayweather throws I expect Pacquiao to bite down and simply maul him. If he is able to outwork Mayweather enough times during a round I see him standing still and inviting Mayweather. I know it sounds crazy but I've always wondered why outboxed opponents choose to eat jabs and potshots and follow the outside fighter aimlessly all night long.
I think he was elite.. It wasn't because he was slick, or didn't get hit, or didn't have his fair share of weaknesses.... But at the top of his game, he had great footwork, as good of a workrate as you will ever see from a fighter, he was strong and could push around fighters, he had a decent chin when he used his defences correctly and was paying attention, and on most nights he had good enough head movement that a lot of fighters wouldn't bother him to much...
Mayweather is a total freak of nature in the boxing ring, and to lose to Mayweather in the way Hatton did does not take anything away from how you would rank him on his own merrit..
He was elite at 140. He was strong enough, workrate (read all of above) to beat anyone at 140, or give them one HELL of a night.. At 147 I think he was a bit out of his weight, but his heart and attributes carried him through all fights until Mayweather, and even that fight he was decent and had enough to trouble Floyd, but just Floyd is to much in the end for most anyone...
Even at the top of his game, focused and sharp, he would have given Manny hell.. Although I still think Manny could have landed good shots on hiim and perhaps got him out late, he would have made Manny very sore..
He just wasn't good enoough coming into and after Mayweather, and I don't take anything away from him or his opponents for their win over him..
For all his strengths though, I honestly put him as an elite fighter from the perspective of put in opposite anyone at Hatton's natural weight, and he will be an utter handful for them and probably too much..
I don't have any hesitation in saying he was elite in that respect... Others may have different criteria for "elite", so I accept arguements against as well.

I have gone against Manny Pac against ODH, Hatton and Cotto, not this time, he will swarm Floyd and win on points against a retreating and defensive Mayweather.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Some lingering questions in my mind:
1. How will PAC penetrate Floyd's defense? I read somewhere here that PBF had trouble with lefties using that Philly shell but PBF can always switch southpaw with that defenseive posture or train for it.
2.How will Manny deal with Floyd's staright right hand? Pac never had trouble with straight right hands with Cotto, Oscar and Hatton because they never had one to begin with.
3.How will Manny deal with Floyd's left hook and jab? knowing that Floyd's going to be the Fastest opponent Pac will ever face.
This are worrying questions for a Pacfan like me, my security blanket as of now for PAC is Pac's ability to take Cotto's Best shots and not get stunned and PAC's ability to drop and stun a big strong welterweight.
So if there's some aspects that I think Manny has an edge is his CHIN, POWER and AWKWARDNESS.
