Over here he is already attracting huge media attention and his personality makes him a love him/hate him fighter. Hitting the world scene soon.

Well I got nothin official but I no a bit about Bernard....

    24-0-0 14KO's. Born February 6 1980. Super-Bantam Weight

From Dublin in Ireland he had a pretty outstanding amateur career 119-11, having never been beaten in Ireland. At the age of 16 he was used as a sparring partner for Wayne McCullough.
His Father fought in the Olympics back in the 70's, (Brendan i believe his name is.)
Pro Debut in 2001 in Orville California. His professional training was initiated by Freddy Roache at the Wild Card gym where he was a steady sparring partner for Manny Pacquaio and even JAMES TONEY!!! Had his first 17 (i think) fights in the US.

Returned to Ireland circa 2004, fights live on RTE television and regularly sells out Irelands national boxing stadium and now Irelands point Depot. He has evolved from a real scrapper with minimal defence to a savvy boxer with exceptional movement and jab. Although an orthodox fighter and naturally right handed the Ko victories are nearly all a resultant of the left to the body which seems to be his calling card. He's a pretty likeable guy and his "cocky" approach to boxing has yet to be swayed. Nicknamed " the Irish Rover," has just entered the Rings World rankings at number 10.

I voted for Berto. But why you didn't include Rey Bautista among the list?

This kid is the next Manny Pacquiao. He's another typhoon that crosses the pacific.

I voted for Berto, before Friday I would have said
"Baby Face" Julio Cesar Garcia he is now 20 years old and already 40-3-0 (34 KOs) Light Middleweight.

He was on Friday night fights, and refused to fight, it was crazy.............
Before that he was an exciting heavy handed puncher. He's only been a pro for
5 years so that's averaging what? over 8 fights a year?
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Ah thanks man...No need for a CC jus tryna promote a fellow Irish dude. He has talent, but iv seen him shaken now twice in the final rounds when his trainer told him to take the round off! Thats what makes him a prospect for the world scene he's very exciting due to that little show of vulnerability.

I loved his fight with Medina, it really showed Bautista has focus and heart.

I look forward to seeing him more in the future, not sure if he has what it takes
to be a world beater, but there is definate potential there.

And again...He's exciting because he showed he's human, he can be hurt. And showed great courage to remain calm and fight back.

Gary then went on to get sparked out in by a journeyman who was coming in 1 win 4 loses in his last five fights and had lost 3 of those 4 by KO...

    And JT, about Julio.

He's not bad. The constant jab and slickness of Quintana got to him in their fight, it disrupted his timing and after a while he just threw one punch at a time and loaded up on everything.

He's still a good fighter with a powerful right hand, a good short puncher. I wish he had more of a jab. When he leads with the right he really reaches with it, and he tends to drop his hands afterwards. He's always had good balance, he's always had a fairly good defense and good instincts. I just think Quintana was a nightmare style matchup for him. A patient puncher who relies on timing facing a guy who was constantly putting a jab in his face.

He'll be fine. He's only 24 now I do believe. He has about a good of a corner as a young boxer can have.

The big thing is that he doesn't throw from the outside and sometimes he waits for the guy to throw to slip and try to find an opening to get inside. And that got him pretty far but Quintana was the first guy to double and triple up on the jab and Julio found himself staying on the outside.

And when he does throw from the outside to try to get in, it's with the right hand and while his right is good, it's what put down Davis down in their bout, it's not a punch I like him leading with especially from distance because it opens him up for counters and doesn't allow him opportunity to follow up.

But yeah, he's a good fighter with a lot of power and determination. I was big on him when he broke that guy's jaw. I would love to see him fight Kermit down the road.
I just want to say, Julio fought a couple days after I wrote this. While the competition wasn't good, the jab was AMAZING. He's been training with Mark Breland and Pernell Whitaker and in the bout he looked like a guy who had been working with the jab in front of everything his whole career. It was an amazing transformation, I think a couple more bouts and he is ready because he looked absolutely spectacular last time out. He lost, had a tough bout with Rivera and then improved on what he needed to. That's the sign of a guy who you feel comfortable picking to be a champion. 147 we all know is stacked, if Julio keeps coming on it might get a little deeper and even more top heavy.

I don't won't to admit it but I thought Stark beat Oliver too. But now that Stark has been shall I say exposed it doesn't matter any more. I been following Oliver since he was 2-0 & he's still a guy I'm picking to make some big noise!
