Tommy Hearns was great, but Ronald Hearns will win only as long as they give him bad fighters. He just does not have a good amateur career. He only went to boxing when his basketball career was over I think. But he is doing ok for a guy who just boxes to fill in the time.
NICE!
this is one of the best cards we had for a min! and its on regular HBO too right?
it is very rare to have a great fighter have a kid whose fighter is great. Now Floyd is a possible great, but his dad was not great. Sometimes a not so great fighter has a kid who is great like Roy Jones Jr. But not both of them. So the chances of Ronald Hearns doing well is very slim. I hope he does well but he probably will not , as well as Chavez Jr.
thats true so u obviously thinking spinks gonna get ktfo too huh? lolOriginally Posted by LegendBoxing65

His opponent aint shat according to his record, but being active is good and no need to get Berto rushed and busted up or befuddled in a marquee fight at this stage..
Welter is such a stacked division... I gotta tell you Joshua Clottey has captured my attention since Margarito and then how he dismantled Chico(God Bless his soul) Gamo I really want to see a Healthy Clottey and Margarito Re-match...
Clottey has the goods and is my dark horse in the Welterweight division..
I know we talk about the 4 way of Williams, Margarito, Cotto, Judah but Clottey needs to be in the mix somewere.. I dont count his fight against MArgarito as his "shot" that fight was close, real close and could have easily been a draw or Clottey's fight... Both were injured and both had good excuses for not putting the other away convinceingly ![]()
Clicked you already JT earlier on. I don't want to go too off topic but yeah both men were hurt but Tony showed more heart and won imo.
And as for a rematch,a fully fit Tony beats Clottey for me. Clottey ALWAYS starts amazingly fast(I have 5 of his fights, the main ones, same thing) and he ALWAYS gasses,it's just something about him first and second,he weighed in at 170 pounds for the Corrales fight,he needs to move up!!!!
In a return match,Margarito would focus on his body allllll night long and if he can wear Clottey out with those arm punches(Clottey looked winded in round 9 I think, reeling back to the ropes after a bodyshot), then he can do it easier to him fully fit and anyway,Clottey's hands are in awesome position to protect the face but not the body. Dam Clottey is a good name to have on the resume![]()
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Well here is the problem. Leon Spinks was not great so his kid might be better. I am joking here although the great fighters usually do not have great fighting sons. And I doubt anyone would say Leon Spinks is great but I might be wrong. But I am not that knowledgeble on boxing history so if anyone can tell me who was a great boxer and who had a son a great boxer please clue me in. The Spinks/Taylor fight I am not sure of. It looks like Taylor will stop Spinks but at the same time Spinks is fast and he is a good fighter and he is southpaw and he did fight his last two fights at 154 pounds just 6 under what they will fight. Taylor should win and get his right hand through. But I would not be surprised if Spinks does better than people think he will.Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P
Jermaine needs a good fighter to fight like Calzaghe, and Joe needs Jermaine. It is a great matchup which at this point I am not sure who would win but they need each other. Fighting Spinks is a good tuneup for Jermaine and he could have trouble. He seems to struggle in fights where he does not stop his opponent. But let's hope he fights Calzaghe or someone fights Calzaghe since Joe deserves the shot at the big time. I think the winner of Winky/Hopkins should fight Calzaghe. Joe would beat Bernard on decision I think, and with Winky I pick Joe because of size. Jermaine Taylor vs. Joe Calzaghe is a pickem fight. Great matchup..
Pavlik, who has trained for weeks in his hometown of Youngstown, said he prepared to take on Miranda who has a difficult style, punches hard and presents a lot of different looks during a fight. "Miranda is a big puncher with a bigger mouth," Pavlik told fight writer Joe Maxse of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. "The way you stand up to a bully is to bully him.
