He almost lost to Tsypko, that was a close one if I remember. His shoulder got hurt again I think and hes still recovering. I really cant believe Calzaghe broke his hand on Manfredo, I saw one shot that he hit him in the shoulder, didnt seem that bad.

He is another Naseem Hamed, making good money from fighting poor oppostion! Will he fight Kessler, duno, when Kessler agreed to fight, Warren suddenly changed the contractual agreements! And Peter Manfredo had to appear on a reality TV show to boost his flagging career! Not high calibre opposition for a 'supposedly' world class fighter like Calzaghe!
He's fought every mandatory put in front of him, so my argument would be that Joe's class has made the opposition look sub-standard, and that the strength of the division has not had enough quality fighters for Calzaghe to fight. If you could put forward which SMW's he should have fought during his 10-year reign, I would be happy to reply.

Calzaghe has fought every mandatory put in front of him?,Calzaghe has only fought 2 mandatories in TEN YEARS
Super Middleweight also acknowledge as Kessler's Kingdom when Calzaghe has retire

They should send Joe for a full body X-Ray to see if there is any fight left in him, or if he has a back bone.
why not fight Froch, or a very much improved Woods, or is that to much to ask, as they are not blown up middle wieghts.
Saying Joe is a class fighter is like saying Hamed was great, or kirkland laing, Crawford Ashley, truth is those who pay a fortune to see joe really know nothing about boxing.

I love reading Joe Calzaghe threads. If nothing else it gives more people a chance to jump aboard the "of course I knew Lacy was shit all along" express.

    Pathetic.

Why do people rate Calzaghe highly? Because he's really good at fighting, end of.

You know thats not true though. Lacy was no has been or never would be, he was the right now and most people picked him to hammer Joe, he was ripe for the taking remember? I do, I was one of them. Of course I could develope a case of selective memory loss like most of the clowns that now think Lacy was a mug, but I wont.

I knew Lacy were'nt all that when he had a hard time with Sheika yes he was impressive stopping Reid but he was very dirty aswell if he struggled with Sheika he were'nt going to beat Calzaghe Lacy was just a over hyped american.

But still, he was the best SMW to come out of America since RJJ left the division, and America is undoubtedly the biggest market for boxing, and has the biggest pool of active fighters there. In that case, what you're saying means that every SMW in the United States is either a has been or never gonna be. Problem one, no American SMW's have been world champions recently except for Lacy, who was beaten. So there's not that many has beens left. SO which SMW's, in your opinion, deserve the fight with Calzaghe as they neither fall into the categories of 'has been' or 'never gunna be'?
