i know i'm gonna be called a "hater" too but i'm just not impressed by Hatton. never was, probably never will be. he does the same thing in every fight: hold, more holding, and then later on, more holding. he kept his forearm on the back of Castillo's neck the whole fight and the ref did nothing. i can't see him beating any elite fighter, just beating up the bums at junior welterweight because none of them really impress me neither( that includes "the Italian Stallion" Paul Malignaggi). geting in the ring with Floyd, Cotto, or Mosley would only expose him for what he is.
.....so Kostya Tszyu wasn't a good fighter....and being undefeated isn't a big deal even after 40+ fights
He got the KO didn't he?
He won me over with this win and proved a lot by doing it the way he did, Castillo was never in the fight at any stage because Hatton didn't allow it.Originally Posted by Lyle

I think he should despose of Malignaggi and the winner of Witter V Harris then early next year take on Cotto or Margarito at 147. Impressed!!
Haven't seen the fight in total just the knock out and some highlights. I am waiting till tonight (Australian time - about 5 hrs time) to watch it. However i think it is great to have something new, different and positive in boxing. Since Lewis and Tszyu retired the Brits and Aussies have been a bit under represented in the true champoion stakes. I'd put Hatton there and the singing and cheering of the Brit fans adds to the spectacle for me and if a fighter at that level is distracted by that then they have a real problem with focus. There's no way Castillo has a problem with that I bet. While some criticize Hattons style there is no denying the undefeated record and some quality opponents amongst them. I welcome it and am glad to see passionate fans in numbers at a boxing match.

How is that giving them props or not hating?
So this leads me to believe this is the 1st Hatton fight or for that matter the 1st fight you ever seen with a big English fighter.Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P

Whats gay about chanting/singing songs and cheering on a fighter you flew half-way around the world for?
DaxxKhan, I see what your saying but the drums, horns does NOT effect the fight/fighters in anyway.
It might distract YOU or YOU might not like it and thats fine for you to feel that way.... The issue here in the begining is that TheBestP4P sought it out as a bad thing? Or gay and ridiculous as he said.
dude your problem is you take things literally all the time. you point out only certain things that i typed yet u dont mention the other more obvious points i intended to make.Originally Posted by CutMeMick
your saying thats the first hatton fight ive ever seen? HAHAHA
your saying i didnt see joe c vs lacy? HAHAHHA
changing christmas songs into a fighters chant song is GAY son, but thats not the point i was trying to make. THE POINT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE WAS WE AMERICANS WOULD NEVER HAVE THE SOLIDARITY TO DO WHAT THEY DID THAT NIGHT.
i only retyped that part only a billion times already? so like i said MICK u tend to read only certain parts and neglect other parts only for the means of criticizing and twisting my words around son. you must really be obsessed with meim flattered.
TE AMO
yeah he loves to take things and attempt to twist them if they're not inline with what he feels...Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P

This thread is hillarious.
Your bashing Hatton fans
Me thinks your issues are being voiced on the wrong platform.

the ricky hatton fans tonight at the thomas and mack center was a bit ridiculous!
WTF was up with the ricky hatton college band playing football fight tunes all night during the fight? is that shiiit legal? lol how come no other fighter has ever done that before? u know have their own band playing all throughout the fight? like that?
his hard core fans was singing WINTER WONDERLAND but changed the lyrics to RICKY HATTON LAND? UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMM thats pretty gay son im sorry.
I'm with smash on this one. I just finished watching the fight and thought the atmosphere was great. It seems you were trying to give a backhanded compliment to the british fans perhaps thats why cutmemick and others took it lterally as you say, because when you post something in type, literally is the only thing you have to go by. The fans were great, the atmosphere seemed to be one of passion and celebration - just what boxing needs, real people showing real passion for a sport and champion they love. For me that's what it's all about.

You can't beat that sort of atmosphere. It's the best.Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P
