i know i'm gonna be called a "hater" too but i'm just not impressed by Hatton. never was, probably never will be. he does the same thing in every fight: hold, more holding, and then later on, more holding. he kept his forearm on the back of Castillo's neck the whole fight and the ref did nothing. i can't see him beating any elite fighter, just beating up the bums at junior welterweight because none of them really impress me neither( that includes "the Italian Stallion" Paul Malignaggi). geting in the ring with Floyd, Cotto, or Mosley would only expose him for what he is.

He won me over with this win and proved a lot by doing it the way he did, Castillo was never in the fight at any stage because Hatton didn't allow it.
He would cause a lot of problems for somone like Cotto and i can't wait for that match to be made.
I think he should despose of Malignaggi and the winner of Witter V Harris then early next year take on Cotto or Margarito at 147. Impressed!!

Haven't seen the fight in total just the knock out and some highlights. I am waiting till tonight (Australian time - about 5 hrs time) to watch it. However i think it is great to have something new, different and positive in boxing. Since Lewis and Tszyu retired the Brits and Aussies have been a bit under represented in the true champoion stakes. I'd put Hatton there and the singing and cheering of the Brit fans adds to the spectacle for me and if a fighter at that level is distracted by that then they have a real problem with focus. There's no way Castillo has a problem with that I bet. While some criticize Hattons style there is no denying the undefeated record and some quality opponents amongst them. I welcome it and am glad to see passionate fans in numbers at a boxing match.

This is the most envy filled thread i have ever come across on Saddos and some of you bemuse me
Don't recall many fighters who will bring 9000 fans half way across the globe consistently and create an atmosphere like we had last night.
80% of those brits are working class and that little weekend would have cost them a good months wages at least so being British they grab it with both hands and enjoy every minute,drink LOTS and be merry and more importantly BRING THE NOISE
It's almost as if some of you STILL can't get your head around the fact that we do have a genuine superstar fighter on our hands at present so you hate on his fans because on that peformance all anyone can possibly do is praise him.
No one has or does that to Castillo....until last night and that shot would have floored anyone even at Welter.

I'm with smash on this one. I just finished watching the fight and thought the atmosphere was great. It seems you were trying to give a backhanded compliment to the british fans perhaps thats why cutmemick and others took it lterally as you say, because when you post something in type, literally is the only thing you have to go by. The fans were great, the atmosphere seemed to be one of passion and celebration - just what boxing needs, real people showing real passion for a sport and champion they love. For me that's what it's all about.

ricky put the smack down on castillo tonight. castillo looked finished from about the first 5seconds into the fight.

all and all EXCITING fight tonight! i was entertained!
