I hope Gatti pulls it out, and then retires. Sad...
Gomez is better than you credit. He's done well against some quality opposition, not the bum you are making him out to be.

But not the quality of fighter that would have dominated Gatti if this was the Gatti of 2 years ago

I think boxing trainer might not exactly be Micky Ward's calling.

Arturo Gatti (40-8, 31 ko's) vs Alfonso Gomez (16-3-2, 7 ko's) Round 5: Gomez starts the jab fest. 1-2 from Gomez followed by a rippin body shot! Gatti cracks hard & they are slugging. Jab from Gatti. Gomez right back in the mix. 1-2 from Gomez. Left hoook from Gatti. Gomez to the body. Left hook from Gatti. Left hook from Gomez. Gatti is breaking down bibt by bit. Upper from Gatti. Huge set of hooks from Gomez. Gatti just kinda buckles. 1-2-3 from Gomez & gatti sticks a right in his chops! Shoulder to shoulder. Gatti cracks. Lef thook from Gomez. Body shots by both. Huge counter right from Gomez rocks Gatti. This is embarrassing. RETIRE!!! Right hand from Gomez. Gatti rallies on the ropes…with nothing.

    Round to Gomez.

I hope Gatti retires from boxing after this...Forget the Chavez Jr fight.....

I hope Micky Ward retires from training after this......Leave the training to Dickie

Thank God it's only 10 rounds and hopefully Gatti will finish on his feet.

He's done good against ordinary competition and has never faced anyone close to the skill level that I thought Gatti still had. His fight on the Contender challenge, he just looked like such an ordinary fighter. I know he's not a bum, he's a good fighter but he isn't someone who should be beating up on Gatti. Either Gatti digressed even worse then he was against Baldomir or Gomez is A LOT better then I thought he was.

I'll have to hold judgement until I see the fight but yeah...

Arturo Gatti (40-8, 31 ko's) vs Alfonso Gomez (16-3-2, 7 ko's) Round 6: If this goes the distance of 10...I’ll be shocked. 45-50 in Gomez’s favor. Gatti jabbing. Gomez just countering…effectively. Body shot by Gomez. Jab by Gatti. Gomez unloads on the ropes. Gatti does the Ali shuffle & the Gatti crowd goes nuts…are these people retarded? Gatti’s losing…badly. Gatti jabbing. Left from Gomez. Gatti jabs & eats a combo. Huge right from Gomez. Gatti just looks confused. Gomez digs the body. Right hand stops Gatti in his tracks. Body shots by both. 3 punch combo from Gomez at the bell.

    Round to Gomez.

On another note, that has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read on here.
