Really disappointed in Abraham, hardly threw the jab after round 3. Credit to Ward though, good job for him

Boring fight.
Well done to Ward though, a level (or two) above Arthur.
Now I'm off to bed before he starts bible bashing in the post-fight interview.![]()

I predicted Mosley vs Berto because of their respective situations happening soon. Pavlik vs Abraham won't be far behind...
Froch is going to beat him, Froch is the slightly bigger man and hits harder. I can see Froch pulling off the upset by fighting another very smart fight. He will keep Ward at range and land those awkward bombs when he can. Ward will try to rough him up and refuse to fight away from home, but Froch is better. He beat Abraham better too.
I think he might even stop Johnson too. People seem to be forgetting that Johnson looked aged in his last fights at LHW and is now older than the Queen.
Miles people also forget that Froch got dropped by Taylor....seriously hurt by him. Glenn Johnson is not someone to be looked past.
I would have loved to have seen Mosley-Berto when it was originally scheduled, but I have zero interest in that fight now. As for Pavlik-AA, I don't believe there would be much interest in this fight, and Pavlik needs to fight someone with a title at 168, it's time to sink or swim.
He went night and day with Clinton Woods three times. Johnson is a solid fighter and a very crafty old vet, but stopping Green in a very close fight hasn't really told us anything more than he can beat a contender in the division. Froch is a step above that. I see it being fairly competitive early, but Froch will want to impress the faithful and he will likely end Johnson's career.
Just wanted to add to this thread that Ward is a nice enough guy, and he's a good boxer, but I don't see this dude ever being the next big thing in boxing. I can't recall seeing even one of Ward's fights when I came away thinking, wow, that was a great fight, or damn, was that entertaining.
I wonder how much Ward got paid for the AA fight, whatever it was, it was too much.
BTW, like someone already said, AA is done, put a fork in him, anyone who can box a bit will always beat him.
See you next weekend for Hop-Pascal.![]()

And what makes someone the next big thing in boxing? Isn't it supposed to be about who you beat and a legacy? Or is it about how exciting your style is? Wards style gets it done against the best the division has had to offer thus far. Sometimes it isn't about "wow that was a great entertaining fight" sometimes its about "wow, I was not expecting that guy to be dominated as badly as he was." and these are the top fighters in the division and Ward has rarely lost a round to them. Regardless on the opinion of his style, his dominance is something that cannot be ignored and he's still only 27.
