It's not being black that makes him stand out. It's being an utter golfing genius. (well, was).
For sure he's a great player, but how many other leading golfers are black?

I guess Obama is famous for being the first American President with big ears right?

He's black. His asshole is black. By all accounts he is an asshole. Thus calling him a black asshole is entirely factually correct right?

So why the objection? The people objecting are being racist, as they assume that to mention a person being black is a negative.

Greenbeanz went even further and showed that he felt being ginger, overweight or wearing glasses were also 'bad things' and thus sae them in a negative light, as if it would be wrong to draw attention to them.

I'm sick of these racist, judgemental people.

If you can cite examples of white people calling other white people "white arsehole" then i'll agree.

However, I don't believe Steve Williams would have called his current employer a "white arsehole" (had they fallen out), he'd have just said "arsehole," so the "black" bit seems pretty unnecessary to me unless there's some other meaning... Apart from him stating a FACT, of course, because the whole world needed telling Tiger Woods is black (well asian/black (is that racist?).. shit

Well watch any film and you will know that black always precedes ass when talking a black person's bottom. "My black ass", "Your black ass", "His black ass" etc. It's just a common phrasing that black people themselves use all the time.

I guess a white equivilant would be "white trash". How often do you hear the term "black trash"? Black ass, and white trash are just common sayings well known to all.

If Tiger had called his caddy white trash would their be a big hullaballo? I'm guessing not.

Incidently if you think the caddy was being racist, what was his intention? How was he planning to subjugate his multi millionare former employer? See, racism is the act of discriminating against somebody on the basis of their colour, either through deprivation of rights, property, dignity, threats to their safety, enslavement, persecution etc. How does calling Tiger Woods a black asshole put Tiger at risk of such things?

It can't be racism. It's just name calling.

I never said he was racist.

He brought race into it by saying "black," so was called on the meaning of it. Like you said he was probably just making a factual statement in case people didn't realise Tiger was black.

I have no doubt in future he will call Adam Scott (his current employer) "white - asshole, trash, cunt"

    Aaah I see!

So they are famous for what they are not moreso than what they are. To the effect that they are regarded as something that they are not, almost as conformation of what they will never be.

Really? What constitutes black then? Do you say this b/c neither of them have two black parents? I've never met a black man that didn't claim both of them.

The term Black in this sense is not in the colour of the skin, but politically i.e. anything non-white is classed as Black including Chinese, Asian, African and Caribbean.

I didn't mention wearing glasses, although i often do wear them, and must be in your opinion, Ugly then.Ginger, fat and ugly are not compliments and it is not the mentioning of someone being black or white that is a negative. It is using Black as a prefix to words like asshole, and bastard. If you can't see what's offensive about saying something that people are offended by, then perhaps you are looking for an excuse to continue in your prejudice. To merely mention that the Golfer Tiger Woods is Black, is not racist, and does not assume a racial slur from the person describing him as such. It is not just semantics, you are revealing your own subconscious prejudice by having to mention that someone is black before slagging them off with a negative description. I used to have a work colleague who used to say "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black" and then he would crack a racist joke. By having to differentiate between his black and other friends he was revealing his own prejudice, confirmed by his stupid jokes. Sorry if i seem racist or judgemental.
