The thing is...Wlad was doing a massive amount of ducking & leaning & holding making some of Peter's shots go wrong.

One thing that Peter did well in this fight was his body work. Damn bwoy he tore up his body with left hooks.

Also...very impressed with the fact that Peter took every flush right that Wlad threw.

Win, lose, or draw tonight...fwockit...I like big Sam.

**Note that I refuse to say "I like Peter" based on the fact that someone here (CuteMick) would turn that into..."Wacko loves Dick" or "Wacko loves Richard Noggin".

Oh gotdam...I did it meself. What can I say...I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE PETER!!!! Heh heh heh.
I was watching that fight yesterday. And I taught it was a disappointing performance by Peter. The first knock down was to the back of the head and the second was more of a push down. The only legit knock down was the third. While I did noticed his body work, I also noticed that most of his punches to the body were lunging shots. They weren't digging shots. If they were he would of broke a rib with the amount of shots he was landing. And I'm starting to wonder if Peter even knows how to nod his head cuz he had no head movement what's so ever. His chin is strong but it can only take so much. As is evident by the 12th round wobble Wlad made him do.
My thing is this...Wlad is one of the more accomplished legit heavies, Toney is one of the better boxers of the last 10 to 15 years, & for Peter to catch as much criticism as he does...I think that it's just a bit harsh because he hung pretty well with them both.
It's just there making Peter out to be this monster. When it's clear he's just a puncher. And nothing more
Agreed...but theyr'e just trying to generate the buzz for the fat men.

Look at it like this though...could you imagine Peter if he just gave in & brought a worthy trainer into his stable?

Peter has room to grow & he is improving...I'd love to see him molded into a machine.

It wouldn't be a bad thing. But I think it's a little to late. He's in love with his power. And i don't blame him. But it's obvious it's not enough.

I don't think he's going to improve that much. The least he can do is knock out James Toney but I don't see him beating anyone else if Wladimer is the main in the division Peter won't beat him. Peter can look different but if his craft is the same he'll get taken apart the same way by a more in shape Toney.

Peter could beat Maskaev. But I really don't like Peter the way I used to.

You really don't think that he could improve? Steward was able to turn Wlad into a velcro-munky this late in his career...I honestly think that with a trainer...Peter could be hell.

Maybe your'e right...but Peter just seems so raw...I just think that he could be sorted out rather easily. Maybe I'm wrong...but we'll probably never see...if he loses tonight...everyone will write him off.

He won't improve without some serious help.

Yeah...I think that he could take Maskaev apart, too.

For some reason...I've just really gotten hooked on Peter ( Heh heh heh) lately & I want to see him make it. I think that he could bring a lot of excitement back to the division...we shall see.

Glad your'e back Sugar Puss...if only for a night here & there.

anyone know how much weight peter lost for this fight?

I think that adds a bit more speed, more speed means better accuracy. and peters not yet controlled power needs just that accuracy.

leads me to think peter wins tonight by k.o.

    He lost eight lbs.
Better accuracy will ko JT. Otherwise I see a UD for JT.

Okay guys...it is that time of the evening again when the ignorant Brit (in this case, me) asks how long until the RBR's start? Also, will we have Jose Rivera v TRavis Simms first, or is it just the main event?

I drunkenly tried to do the math from memory of his last weight...I was off by ten sloppily sauced L-B's.

Ty for the heads up....so here's one in return. Roman Karmazin TKO'd the other James 'Obede' Toney in 2:05 of round 4 in his fight on the undercard...i guess that just leaves Simms v Rivera and the main event.
