Tyson did face good tall boxers like: Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker, Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno, Razor Ruddock, to name a few. These boxers have proven more than Mason.

Pinklon Thomas was just out of rehab Holmes was past it Tucker was quite good Bruno was too slow and robotic Razor Ruddock only threw left hook and he had lazy offense and not very good defense sorry not trying to put Tysons opponents down but im just giving you the facts.

We've had this conversation before ...

Prime Lewis on a good night where he keeps his jab working and holds when necessary weathers Tyson's first four-five rounds. Tyson becomes frustrated, not knowing what to do with someone he can't knock out in four. Lewis clinics him for the remainder of the fight.

Lewis TKO 9-11 (more likely) or UD (less likely).

Similar to Lewis-Tua though Tyson would be more explosively dangerous early.

Tyson-Tua would have been an interesting fight, both prime ... I'd say Tyson wins that one but would have been good to watch.

Tyson in his prime was 10 times better than Tua Tyson used to bob and weave his way in slipping the jab and let his punches go his speed and power combined used to just smash through guards noway lewis wins this one no way on earth Tyson would stop him inside 5 rounds Tyson was brutal in his prime
There is still troubles he had some troubles with Mitch Green's height, and he was not even close to athlete Lennox is in terms of speed or power. Tillis also caught him with punches comming in, and he wasn't as fast as Lennox. Tyson was a great fighter, but Lewis used to be a lot faster than he was against Tua, and like I said He would tie Tyson up.

    Tyson!

Lewis had a long reach but still had power up close too. Though if you just saw the way Tyson fought in his prime. He was a vicious killer. As if he was created 2 destroy, not born.

I'd give it to Tyson in 6 rounds. At his prime, he'd land one of those uppercuts on lewis' chin, or his hook on lewis' cheek and it would rock Lewis, no doubt about that.

In their actual fight, Tyson went in there to kill! His head got in before his fists. Lewis went in there to BOX!

Tyson wanted to hurt. Lewis wanted to win!

The better man won that day. Tyson needed to go in the way Cus D'Amato would have wanted him to, he didn't!

    Just one other thing.

I support Tyson in every fight he ever had. I even started 'Tyson Crew', down here in Australia.

I had all faith in him when the fight was announced. I knew he could do it. Then he came out saying 'I'm going to eat this and kill that.'

I was saddened and really shocked. Sure he has said some crap in the past, but this was going to be his most important fight ever!

He should of changed his attitude...well he did...only after Lewis gave him a flogging.

His mind was not in the fight that day!

Suppose to be the best fight in history. Turned out to be another bout for Lewis...and the end of Tyson.

    A very sad, disappointing day.

and i know u think tyson only ever beat bums ....spinks, thomas, williams, berbick, tubbs, smith, biggs, and holmes were not bums and yeah holmes was 38 but he still had never been koed and was never koed after that but tyson knocked him out cold, something prime holyfield couldnt do to an even older version of holmes. and spinks was a natural light heavy but he would have givin holyfield a run for his money and he ko cooney who was twice his size . so it was a good win for tyson
Right i see you mentioned these names about 6 times today im going to tell you little fact

Spinks was natural Lightheavy only got title getting 2 gifts off a faded Holmes

Smith koed a Witherspoon who was having drug problems and bad dealings with King his head wasn't in the game in his prime he easily dealt with Smith

Pinklon Thomas had talent but he had just got out of rehab

Carl Williams had talent but his chin was badly weak

Berbick had been koed in 1 round before Tyson got to him and lost every round against Holmes

Tubbs had 2 weeks to prepare and was badly out of shape

Smith lol don't make me laugh he lost to Marvis Frazier

Biggs is like Williams had talent but his chin was badly weak and he never beat an elite fighter just like Williams

Holmes 38 2 weeks to train on losing streak and hadn't fought in nearly 2 years.

    smith also murdered tim witherspoon.
you say carl's chin was so bad, but holmes couldnt put him away?
thomas had angelo dundee and was very good, but i didnt know he just got out of rehab. so ill take your word on that one.
and where do you get this 2 weeks crap from? acording to you all tyson opponents only get 2 weeks to train for a fight? holmes and tubbs were givin sufficient time to train, they were just beaten by a better man who was in his prime!
and why do you discount spinks as just a light heavy? he was a good HW that could match it with the best.holmes had 30 rds to ko him and he couldnt!
you say tyson is overrated but you also think ALI is overrated?
just keepin it real mr icecold
Holmes isn't a puncher just like Ali couldn't put Norton away he isn't puncher James Tillis decked Williams twice its well known Williams chin is like glass

And it isn't crap Tubbs said himself he had 2 weeks to train because he was a replacement i believe

And again with this Holmes couldn't ko Spinks firstly he was fading and was shot secondly it doesn't matter if he couldn't ko him he still won both fights to 98 percent of the public

Tyson is overrated Ali is a tad overrated but atleast he beat great fighters in there prime i never said Ali is overrated in his opponents i mean when people say he can beat anyone and thats ditto for Tyson except Ali beat great fighters Tyson didn't.
but if holmes was so shot for the spinks fight, how in the hell did he manage to fight on for another 20years. and give a prime evander loads of probs?
Because it was style makes fights ?? Foreman gave Holyfield troubles aswell and he was shot aswell ??
it is because holfield was crap and couldnt ko 2 old men. at least tyson koed that SOB

and yet holy ko'ed tyson and he was 29..hardly as old george and larry....

I agree and then even the trouble with Tucker and like you said he just about got the decision against Tillis Tyson said himself that the knockdown saved him Lewis would stop Tyson in the 10th.
