The article described what happened but not whether or not that guy got put away. Did he get put away for it? I hope so - people shouldn't get away with that but according to the article it doesn't sound like the defence put up a long testimony ....
They didnt have much of a defence,he went down, and down hard
But the only reason was public scrutiny
Lest certain(Lyle)people forget its why we have hate crime laws now,Texas tried real hard to let the suckers walk

I find the whole "Hate Crime" deal pretty fucking stupid....one thing you can do if you're a good District Attourney handling a case with clear racial implications is charge the defendants with PREMEDITAITED murder which is a lot easier to get a death penalty for. Because if you don't like a certain race and then you kill someone of that race it would be easier to prove premeditation. The only places you would have problems would be in small towns which is where there are always issues of favoritism to some extent or another.

But the reasons don't like 'Hate Crime' legislation are:

#1 if anyone is killed it's a bad thing and it doesn't change much if someone was killed due to race or whatever.....it doesn't change the result which is someone is dead

#2 straight white protestant males are not protected under 'Hate Crime' legislation but they are prosecuted at every drop of a hat, d I am sure more than a few deserve it but it's disconcerting to me as a straight white protestant male and now in the back of my mind if I am in any situations that could result in someone being hurt I have to consider that I (even though I may have been defending myself) could be in a huge amount of trouble.

Listen TM, I am not trying to say racism is a good thing or we need to keep that going, FAR FROM IT....but I don't think that political correctness and 'hate crime' legislation are the ways to solve the problem of racism or make it any better.

As for Bernard Hopkins, he could have chosen his words better....I don't expect an appology or anything but I do want people to realize that being white (as with being black or hispanic) comes with more scrutiny in certain areas.

    Really
The state judge tried to let those bastards walk in the case I showed you
They drug a man to death
And the state judge tried to let them walk for it
Thats why we have hate crime laws in this country Lyle,so theres a secondary Federal level to get justice

....I am familiar with the case and 2 of those guys have the death penalty and the other one has a life sentence.

The DA brought in the FBI that was a smart thing to do given the racial make up of the jury.

Mumia Abu-Jamaal wasn't convicted of a hate crime and there are still people fighting for his release.......he shot and killed a white police officer. So where is the hate crime there?

Well gee golly Lyle, first off it was a corrupt Police Force, secondly he is convicted to die,and thirdly every "eyewitness" has recanted saying they were co-erced
Youve never dealt with Rizzo's boys,I can tell

......so you're calling Danny Faulkner a corrupt cop? And so he's been shot and killed so Mumia did a good thing

If you answer yes then this is a slippery slope and anything can be justified

And don't tell me about corrupt cops, I know all about them, only here in Greensboro, North Carolina they get to keep their jobs as long as they are black and that's not a racist statement as I have nothing against blacks but it's a truthful statement

All I try to say is all human life is precious and you vehemantly disagree with me and I'm sitting here wondering why and I get called names and I get told I am wrong.

What if the real killer was white or better yet, Daniel Faulkner probably decided to frame Mumia and shot himself 5 times, 4 times in the face.....it's totally plausable

If no eyewitness puts him as the shooter, and he was shot in the cross fire(which he was),well I guess an anti Rizzo radio hosts life is just as useless as Mr Faulkners
Because they let the killer walk
Willing to let the actual killer walk just to get a pound of flesh, and serve a political aim are we
    Man,thats justice
Oh maybe you didnt know that,so let me inform you,Jamaal was a strongly critical radio host, who went after the very corrupt Rizzo administration
He was hit in the crossfire, thats why he was so easy to arrest,he was lying right there
He had no chemical residue on his hands
And every "witness" who placed him there as the shooter is either dead,or has since recanted their testimony saying they were coerced in to giving it
And gee golly, its so hard to coerce a prostitute(the prosecutions star witness)

.....you're totally right, all white people are guilty even if they haven't done anything, I think I'll go turn myself in now.

Cross fire usually does follow a ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP

But as I said before, there is no use playing tit for tat in regards to race because so much as happened and so much needs to be let go of.

but let us not blame white people for 100% of the atrocities that have happened in America over the years

    Not in Philly
Especially not with two other shooters on the scene
    Tit for tat is
    Hes on death row
Everyone knows Rizzo's PD was corrupt as hell
None of the "eyewitnesses" still say he was a shooter
There is no chemical evidence to say he was a shooter
    He is on death row
How do you say "Im sorry" to a dead guy
"Ooopsie, the legal system thats supposed to protect us all equally,it just screwed up this time, oops"
A crazy drunk bastard outside of Philly, fried his wife and mother by setting the house on fire, everybody that knew them is positive he did it.I know,I lived right down the road.
    He got a stay
It might have been the electrical system they said, after the SOB was convicted and sat on death row for a decade
Oh damn,it turns out the legal system isnt equal

....alright fine suppose you are 1000000000% correct in this case seeing how you know EVERYTHING that happened in that case.

Go get the keys and unlock Mumia's cell

Oh let me ask you has he ever denied shooting Faulkner?

What about the Duke lacrosse case?
