Same here. Frampton landed cleaner early but Santa Cruz landed so many more putting early rounds rather even for me but Santa Cruz dominated the 2nd half of the fight.
I feel the same. I thought the first half was close with Frampton edging it with his counter-punching. I thought Santa Cruz clearly was the better fighter in the 2nd half.

I was watching it wanting Frampton to win but I can't make a case for him winning seven rounds, never mind those cards.

True enough statement. Close smart but he was doing half the work for him giving height to Frampton who arguably held his own on equal footing in Santa Cruz strength early. Will say composure seemed to belong to Frampton throughout.

Rigo congratulates Frampton and says he's willing to go to Belfast to settle differences.

I like Frampton, seems a nice and real enough guy and he is stoic, but there's no way he's going to fight Rigo, he'll get destroyed at his own game.

No one of consequence is going to fight Rigo. He's high risk and no reward.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Santa Cruz won. I had it 115-113. There were some close rounds for sure so I don't mind frampton winning, but those scores were wide. Santa Cruz was just so much busier and he landed some huge shots. Frampton did well (a lot better than I expected), but overall, I thought Cruz did better.

Frampton is a Haymon fighter though, and at least one of the judges is a complete joke on a very consistent basis. I wouldn't have a problem if he won close, but I don't see how you could give him more than 2 of the last 6 rounds really. Oh well, very good fight.

I am so happy waking up to hear that Carl Frampton has won the title!

Taking on the US fighter in his home country at his own weight takes a lot of courage and risk.

    Credit Carl for that.

First time I have stayed up all night in ages, very good fight, feel for Santa Cruz had it a draw tbh and was a bit shocked by the wide margin on two judges cards, got to be a rematch.

Brilliant performance from Frampton and doing it as the away fighter made it even more sweet for him.
By the 11th round i had it a draw if im honest as Santa Cruz came on strong but it was exactly that, a fight of 2 halves with Frampton winning most rounds by the half way mark.

Rematch or go after Lee Selby ?

Santa Cruz says he is willing to travel to Ireland for a rematch

I have watched it again still had Frampton the winner.
Cruz volume of punch's was higher but he missed a lot.
Leo looks good against lesser fighters Frampton is a different animal, a good fight in the rematch I feel Carl will beat him more convincingly.

Cruz said my dad told me I won he would say that he is his father.
Leo also said he wanted the rematch in LA ,! Frampton was the away fighter on home soil he will I think win more convincingly maybe even stop Cruz.
After watching the fight 3 times I still have Frampton as the winner.
Hell of a fight this is what we want great fighters in great fights.
