Default Quigg-Cermeno will take place on April 19th, Anthony Crolla vs. John Murray on bill!

    Quigg-Cermeno, Crolla-Murray Eyed For April 19th - Boxing News

Scott Quigg will defend his WBA 'Regular' Super-Bantamweight Title against Nehomar Cermeno in Manchester on April 19th, and a cracking domestic dust-up between Anthony Crolla & John Murray is set to support it. Anthony Joshua is also fighting on the bill in his 3rd fight of the year (after he has his 2nd on the Burns-Crawford card). Nice to see him keeping busy.

I love Matchroom on Sky, they keep it entertaining and competative. Beats the days of Maloney & Warren putting out their talent against some overmatched Latvian cab driver.

Competitive? This is typical matchroom. Target old has beens as names for their fighters. Id love to see it back fire but cant see Quigg losing this? Joshua and competitive cant be used in the same sentence for another 2 years. Crolla Murray would be a good fighter but its between 2 fighters going nowhere.

Quigg has to fight Cermeno as it's his mandatory. Crolla & Murray are on an even keel which is exatly what you want. 2 fighters don't have to be the world's best to make a good fight, they just have to be evenly matched. At this point in their careers, that is a cracking fight. Joshua is a prospect so he's going to fight tomato cans but it's good to see him active and improving. Would you honestly prefer to watch a Warren card than this? Matchroom are currently producing better shows than we've seen in years. Look at last week, Rees & Buckland is a FOTY candidate. Give me that every week please.

Rees and Buckland are going nowhere it didn't stop it from being a great match-up.

It's a Manchester bill for Manchester fans. Hence Crolla-Murray, which will sell more tickets than Quigg.

It's a bit rich slating Quigg for his mandatory opponent considering who Frampton is facing next.

Not salting Quigg just Matchroom. The way they get world champs is what's wrong with boxing. Paying your way into getting mandatories by beating old fighters and nobodies from South America. I'm not saying warren is any better but as a boxing fan it annoys me. It's not Quigg or Framptons fault they're not fighting it's just politics but it's shit for boxing
