Watched a couple of his fights today. Seems like a decent fighter, doing the right things. But I didn’t see anything that jumped out at me. What am I missing?

Have to admit i had never seen the fella before looking up his record. A lot of stoppages for a lightweight and judging only from the fight below which i missed on the Ruiz /AJ card he seems fundamentally very sound, hard to tag, good ability to string together combos, has a nasty spiteful right uppercut and knows how to close the show in style. Thanks for flagging him up.
Rated 4th best active lightweight by Ring. Not seen him at all but maybe you are not missing anything and that he is not that special?

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
He looks good, but I’m definitely not confident that he will turn into a p4p fighter or anything. He might, but I agree that nothing really jumps out to show that he is destined for greatness. I admit that he may end up being really good, but I think he will just turn out to be one of the top guys at his weight but never the guy.
Shameless, dude, utterly shameless.
Devon is only 20, if Eddie fucks up he has plenty of time to get with Al. He could still be the new Floyd.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
He could be anything.
Lotta young talent in and around his weight class (Teofimo Lopez, Tank Davis, Ryan Garcia, Shakur Stevenson) It's more than revealing that Hearn isn’t even mentioning loma. Nor will he want to take that route to fight him. Too many people afraid of taking that early L will derail Hney's career
He gave food to homeless in Vegas though
How nice that he was able to bring a cameraman to capture his "good deed"
Maybe it was for publicity, maybe not. His management probably had more of say in this than he did but that doesn't change the fact that hungry kids got fed. Homeless kids got to eat so mission accomplished.
But that was proper highlight reel KO of Moran in last fight
My only thought as I watched Moran on the floor was that he may well not fight again. The pain on his face is the sort of thing that makes you wish you stayed in school.
Need to remember too that KOs aren't really his thing, he's more a skilled boxer, so being able to KO someone like that suggests he has power to keep pressure fighters honest if someone tries to put him under pressure - lots to like with Haney.

You know what Floyd would say.
There is no point in doing charity work if no one is going to see or hear about it.

For sure Denilson, I’m not bad mouthing the kid. Just, I’ve heard about him for years so when I sat down to watch the kid I expected to see something spectacular. I didn’t. I saw lots of very good things but nothing great. So I wondered if someone saw something I was missing. And I know I can get young ones wrong from time to time. For example I said Andre Ward would need to be protected. Can’t be much more wrong than that 😂
mike mccallum trains him.
