The penalty given for the "foul" on Messi was pathetic and they do not know how to use VAR properly.

They ruined the world cup final 2018 when they gave the penalty to France against Croatia and they will do the same for this world cup.

    They are ruining football.

The foul WAS pathetic... I agree with you.

However, the writing was on the wall. Poland looked like a bunch of minor-leaguers in there against Argentina. 2-0 says nothing about how utter the dominance really was.

hahaha what a piece of shit

Alvarez tweeted that he got carried away and apologised to Messi and the people of Argentina.

"These last few days I got carried away by the passion and love I feel for my country and I made comments that were out of place," Alvarez said. "So I want to apologise to Messi and the people of Argentina."

"Mexico’s Andres Guardado rips Canelo Alvarez for ‘silly’ Lionel Messi threat"

Guardado can certainly offer Canelo a few lessons on CLASS.

(I doubt it'll do any good, though).

Canelo undoubtedly had his public relations team scrambling to put an apology together that Ginger could mumble to the press and cut/paste on social media, in order to do some damage control. Fucking clown...

    Japan doing things hard mode.

    Beating Costa Rica? Nah fam

Beating Spain AND Germany? Now that's my shit

    HADOUKEN !!!!!!

I'll always remember the 2 minutes Costa Rica and Japan were going through over Spain and Germany on December 1st 2022

I wish everyone would STFU. The ball was in. Yes it may have been a millimetre but it was in.

It’s really weird how they’re going on like it’s a conspiracy when the evidence is being shown in front of them.

The whole of the ball has to be over the line and it wasn't

I couldn't give less of a shit in what order Japan and Spain went through. All I care about is that Germany is OUT... and that's just fine by me.

Feel bad for Costa Rica, though. Still... you can't get a shellacking like it got from Spain... lose to Germany... and expect to go anywhere.

In the end I was rooting for Japan to hold on to the lead against Spain. Why? 'Cause I knew it meant Germany would say bye-bye.

    So far so good.

    Brazil in.
    USA in.
    Argentina in.

    Germany out.

Not a bad group stage at all.

The knockout stage bracket is set... and it looks like a World Cup bracket should look.

Going through the Round of 16...

    Netherlands vs USA -

I'd love for USA to win, but I understand they're the underdogs. Still... they have a good team and this win would be huge.

    Argentina vs Australia -

I know there's excitement for the Aussies... but I'm a Messi fan and would like for him to say goodbye to the World Cup in style. Rooting for the Argentines.

    Japan vs Croatia -

Japan caught my fancy by getting out of their group and are kind of a Cinderella-ish team. I guess it would be nice if they won.

    Brazil vs Korea Republic -

No-brainer. Brazil has always been my favorite team. Go Brazil!!

    England vs Senegal -

Looking forward to an England-France showdown... so it's England in this one.

    France vs Poland -

(see above). Besides... Poland looked like shit out there in their last Group match. They were lucky to just make it. France in this one.

    Morocco vs Spain -

Also looking forward to the battle of the Iberian Peninsula. Spain in this one.

    Portugal vs Switzerland -

(see above). The possibility of a Messi vs Ronaldo final is tantalizing... but that probably won't happen. Portugal takes this one, though.

South Korea beating Spain to knock out Uruguay was the highlight today. That was an exciting result which left Suarez in tears.

Great save by Martinez at the end, good shot and Martinez doesn't have time to register where it's going but he spreads his body( ohmyyy) extremely well, Neuer like, covers as much as he can saves it, great goal keeping...

Messi was pretty good, lautaro though looked like he was on a mission not to score. He's on bad form and that could hurt the argies v dutch.
