A big CC for that, man I've never seen Byrd look so heavy on his feet, those years are catching up with him, about time
for him to drop down to Cruiser me thinks.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
..he was a lot slower and his reflexes don't look as great as they once were but byrd really didn't look all that bad against this guy, i was actually surprised they stopped the fight when they did.

Yes he did look decent, but like you said, he has slowed and I think that it's enough to nullify his chances against any top heavyweight (even today's heavyweights)Originally Posted by Mar

Byrd and Brewster both have that look like they want to keep something back so they're still human enough to enjoy their families. That's when it's time to get out. I've never seen him that stationary, although he wasn't that terrible, just terrible for him. If he'd developed power throughout the years he would have put this guy on his butt. Instead he relies too much on pitty-pat punches like it's Olympic boxing.
Oops
I still say any struggle povetkin had against byrd is because byrd is a southpaw. Watch how he wants the throw a punch but seems to hesitate only because byrd's jabbing with his right hand.
From that camera angle it looked like a very bad stoppage. Byrd seemed to be giving a good account of himself up to that point.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
Byrds finished. He was fighting like a man whos legs have gone. Thing is he aint quite Winky
Cant blame a man for trying.

Byrd is now forced to fight a style that he can't win with against the top guys, and it just exposes him to more punishment.
I hope he retires with his head held high for his against the odds accomplishments.
I read an article where byrd wasn't upset at the stoppage and told his corner he was toast after the 6th. The stoppage makes more sense to me now.
