Default ESPN FNF - Feb. 22nd - Lamont Peterson vs. Kendall Holt

A rare title fight on FNF, that should be worth a look.
    Feb. 22
At Washington, D.C. (ESPN2/ESPN Deportes): Lamont Peterson vs. Kendall Holt, 12 rounds, for Peterson's IBF junior welterweight title; Roman Morales vs. Jesus Hernandez, 8 rounds, junior featherweights; David Grayton vs. TBA, 4 rounds, welterweights; Danny Kelly vs. Donnie Crawford, 4 rounds, heavyweights.

I'll take Lamont Peterson by a 12 round decision.

Peterson should not even be a belt holder. Not one iota of recalcitrance for his deceit. One half of me hopes Holt smokes him and the other hopes he keeps his trinket so that Khan has the opportunity to take it back off him.

Khan want the Garcia rematch. But IMO, would be wise to take the Peterson rematch(should he defeat Holt). Might be better if Garcia fight Peterson if both win there upcoming fight and force Khan to 147.

True, Peterson shouldn't even have a title. I can't see Holt winning this, but who knows, he may get his left-hook working. As for Khan, you still backing this dufus?

IM not even going to predict this fight cuz it all depends on which version of Holt shows up..

What I do know is that Holt has been fighting with a nagging injury for the past 7 years, his shoulder and his left knuckle in particular, but he's had surgery on it and claims to feel like a new man so if that's the case, he will thrown more jabs ( Holt has one of the best jabs when he utilizes them ) and will throw punches with alot more conviction..

Holt is a better fighter than Peterson in terms of talents so if he fights up to his ability, he will win...

I saw Holt taking about that on FNF last week, I don't buy that he'll be any better, but I hope he is.

I know Kendall personally and with him training out here in LA for this fight, Ive been to a few of his training sessions and believe me, he's punching with alot more authority..

I know punching with bigger gloves in the gym is different from fighting with the smaller 8/10 ounce gloves in an actual fight but he's definitely more comfortable with putting more muster on his punches from what i observed..

What really caught my eyes were his jabs. Everybody who has followed Holt's career knows that he has one of the mose underrated jabs and he's been utilizing them alot in the gym..

I think friday will be Holt's night !!

I'm going to say Peterson on points. It'll be a tight fight but I just fancy he'll be able to outbox Holt. If Holt hurts him early though you could see Peterson go into a shell like he did in the Ortiz fight.

I'd like to see Holt win this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Peterson will catch him inside and take this. Comes down to Holt unwraveling faster and Peterson handling the power better. Hope To see Holt tko him though.
