Bernard Manning doesn't go down well in my experience. A Turkish fella put his live video on in the place I was working in the 90s, about 5 minutes later I was hiding under the bar ()

3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Jonathon Winters, Tim Conway, Slappy White, Ruth Buzzi...comedians from the late 1960s-1970s are almost off the radar. Few today know them, but everything they did was funny as heck.
Not sure how well Dave Allen was across the pond. But in America few knew of him. I thought his show Dave Allen @ Large was hilarious. First comedian I ever saw that did jokes on religion, especially Catholics. He usually sipped on scotch while telling such jokes to which I found amazing as a kid.
"mamma.... there's a white dude on t.v. getting drunk while telling catholic jokes!"
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Mrs..uh..whiggins!!!!
RIP!!!
@Master Yes, Dave was brilliant, but few Americans watched him. At least everytime I brought his name up.
One skit where he only said yes... he's trying to make out with a woman, he says "yes" she said "no. Then after he gets some, the 3rd time she said yes, he said, no.
By the end of the skit she is chasing him to get some more..he's running his arse off hollering NO!
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Dave Allen had a show on BBC for years and he was very witty and critical of certain aspects of life. Smoked like a chimney and sat down for most of his stand up show.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Tim Conway and Benny Hill were staples in our living room growing up . Mom was a Carol Burnett addict and my ol man did a pretty spot on Mr. Tudball. Loved the live audience reactions and the cast breaking each other down skit to skit . Fernwood 2 Nite with Fred Willard was funny as hell. Hard to believe the guy is still popping up on shows, with that same dead pan everyman delivery.
By the time the 20somethings on this board reach 40s....they will live in an era where the name Ali will be almost non-existent.
On gameshow of their day like Jeopardy, someone will be considered a walking computer (once called a walking almanac) because they got the name Joe Louis correct.
And sad to say, if one isn't Italian, then the name Rocky Marciano won't be remotely identified. Man talk about the world will go on without us.....
