    Lol

Eubank Jr will probably challenge the Kazak before Alvarez does.

Here is a statement from the WBC Dec 12.

WBC Statement: In the last few days, the WBC has been working diligently with all interested parties to ultimately facilitate the fight between WBC Middleweight World Champion Saul Alvarez and WBC Middleweight Interim Champion Gennady Golovkin. That bout carries enormous implications and is of great importance for boxing, both in terms of history and for the future of the sport.

Many details must be addressed for or a Super-Fight of that magnitude to actually occur. The boxers’ respective promoters, Golden Boy Promotions and K2 Promotions, have been communicating in good faith to finalize the details of the negotiations for the contest to come to fruition. Recognizing that their discussions have been ongoing, the WBC has given the parties the flexibility to continue to work amicably to finalize terms, with the ultimate goal being that the two champions meet in the ring.

In order to bring closure to the negotiations, the WBC plans to attend an in-person session between the two promotional companies this weekend in Los Angeles. The WBC’s goal is to facilitate this fight, which will be of tremendous magnitude for the sport of boxing and its fans all over the world.
Anything glare out? Why no explicit remark on weight?

Here is what they put on the wire Dec 16.

Upon the joint request of WBC middleweight world champion Saul Alvarez and WBC interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, and their corresponding promotional companies Golden Boy Promotions and K2 Promotions, the WBC has ruled as follows:

Both Alvarez and Glolovkin shall be entitled to make a voluntary defense of their corresponding championships, so as to maximize the interest on their highly anticipated showdown. A 15 day free negotiation period will be ordered on the earlier of the competition of the voluntary defense or May 31, 2016 . If there is no agreement a purse bid will be conducted under the WBC rules and regulations. If after their corresponding voluntary defenses one boxer is unable to fight the other for the undisputed WBC middleweight championship of the world, the unable fighter will lose his status as champion or interim champion. The fighter able to fight will be named undisputed WBC world champion.

Canelo vs. GGG is one of the most important events in the sport of boxing and their promotional companies and partners have been communicating openly and in good faith. The ultimate goal of all involved is to make certain that the best conditions are secured for their fighters and the boxing world, and to preserve their full commitment to abide by, and respect, the governing WBC Rules & Regulations.

The WBC, as the institution governing an eventual Canelo vs. GGG fight, hereby acknowledges, supports and agrees with the parties efforts to allow the most competitive and greatest fight to take
A so called World governing body continuing to be complicit in denying the best middleweight since Hagler and Hopkins his rightful place. Joining the wait out train of their native son. Not sure whats worse, its premeditation, the act itself or the acceptance.

Canelo says no CW and if that's the case with all things considered, I'm fine with it. That's if it gets anywhere near made of course. Unfortunately for Alvarez he'll resemble a watermelon exploding and be painfully stopped.

In all honesty I still think Canelo gives a sterner fight than Jacobs.

    LOL.

    I'll tell you why.
He needs to grow 5 pounds of "cojones" so he can get into the ring with GGG at 160.

I'm fine with Canelo getting a fight in at the 160 pound weight limit first. He needs to fight a real middleweight first. He should fight ndam the whipping boy next. That would be a good fight for canelo to acclimate to 160. Then he can fight ggg and get destroyed.

The fight must be made but GGG should be considered the best middleweight in the world. If he was Mexican he would have been.

Oh yeah, if he was from anywhere but Russia he'd be getting a hell of a lot more attention. IMO

It would be a good tough middleweight fight for canelo. Somebody who has proven to be tough and durable and is a decent boxer. I think canelo wins but it would be a tough fight for him. I'd love for him to fight lemieux though although I can't imagine he would risk that.

Yes, they are giving Canelo more time as champion.

Exciting times though. Here we are late 2015 and we now know the middlewight division can maybe look forward to late 2016 the champ fighting a guy who never proved himself the best at 154, umm, yippee?
