What's your favorite sport to watch/play that isn't boxing?

Love the Nfl and the running game. Cant stand our Cfl. If they added a down with our bigger field it would be awesome.

Its extremely commercial now mate, and you are in the hands of judges who may or may not like your style. Im so glad it exists though, because a few people who do it have to have large egos and are manic out in the water (which is fair enough that is their living). The comps take those types away from the other breaks which is why I like comps cause im on my own somewhere else.

Ive actually surfed in one once and thought I won it over all, but I wasnt a competitor, whoops . Fuck them I wasnt getting out of the water it was going off. You used to be able to get away with that in the remote country areas, when a club turned up and held a comp. (These days you couldnt do it i dont think, in the city they'd send a few heavys out to warn you, then smash you and your fins out of your board if you didnt get out of the water.

But theres alot of sides to the 'sport', Art, one is walking down a deserted beach and surfing all alone for instance, theres fear there adrenalin theres joy at being able to tackle it and survive then theres getting tubed which is similar to sex. Theres so many facets, surfing in moonlight just after the sun goes down is epic black water and a yellow full moon reflecting up the walls of water at you. Surfing with your friends. Over sharp reefs, over soft sand that moves and changes the break around as you are out there as does the tides, over smooth rocks covered in weed so its a softish landing if you fuck up,every condition the ocean and the wind can serve up you can still go out there, smooth, choppy massive, small and the areas you can do it in are so different; from ice being in the water and snow on the hills in front of you, to out in the middle of the desert with nothing but red hot wind and desert sand dunes in front of you. Then theres the days when theres lightening around and rain squalls thats rerally sorts out whos mad and who isnt

My favorite is just on sunset when the water goes from dark green to orange and then an oily redish black.

I've got to say that sounds amazing, being from England too the concept of proper surfing sounds quite alien, especially when most of our beaches are all mud with a few donkeys on them As for sending heavy's out, it kinda sounds like the Mucca Mad Boys from that Australian show Angry Boys
