Default Fury vs Wilder is off!

Wilder has been exposed and his silence says it all!

Apparently the rematch clause for the trilogy has expired.

    Can we discuss this?!

Wilder would get knocked out in a couple rounds this time, and there was NEVER ANY reason for a 3rd fight IMO. Wilder was Totally shellacked and bitch-slapped in the 2nd fight, and beaten in the first fight. WHy a 3rd fight? I never understood it and so this makes perfect sense. I never truly believed there would be a 3rd fight. BUt how has it suddenly expired if this was scheduled for Dec?

I am sure I heard Warren saying that he wanted to honour the rematch clause regardless of the time expiring.

It works in Wilders favour not to have the rematch because he got so comprehensively beaten last time.

Joe Louis was pretty much humiliated and bitch slapped by Max Schemeling. Jack Dempsey was knocked out in one round by Fireman Jim Flynn.

They both recovered from those one sided beatings, and ended up pretty decent fighters.

Wilder was always flawed as a boxer, but he has that big equaliser. He will always be that, and he may well have come unstuck earlier in his career (but was well protected). He can come back and will always be competitive.

I’ve heard rumors it was off but I’ve also heard that that wasn’t true

Louis and Dempsey were also all of 21,22? Wilder turns 35 this month. Just a thought, all that padding was just kicking the can down the road and cemented his flaws this late on.

I hope it is off. I think Brock said earlier, there was no reason for a 3rd fight anyway. Now get Fury/Joshua done!

    Let's hope so.
Not sure why he wouldn't at least try to get step aside money though rather than just let it lapse.

‘We will fight in December’ – Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury trilogy still ON – putting Anthony Joshua fight in doubt

Deontay Wilder and his team have denied reports the proposed trilogy fight with Tyson Fury for December was abandoned.

Reports on Saturday afternoon broke suggesting ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had allowed his rematch clause to expire to claim back his WBC heavyweight title.

‘The Gypsy King’ proved his almost flawless performance from their first fight in December 2018 was no fluke and delivered on his promise to stop the American in Las Vegas back in February.

Although the report claimed Wilder was effectively stepping aside to allow Fury to fight Anthony Joshua twice in 2021, the 36-year-old’s co-manager Shelly Finkel has confirmed this is not the case.

“They are wrong, we will fight in December,” Finkel told Sky Sports.

Wilder has confirmed the defeat to Fury left him requiring surgery on a bicep injury which had left him unable to train for July 25, the date originally scheduled for their third fight.

“Recovery [is] going well, I’m in therapy, I ended up injuring it during my last fight, somewhere up in there’, he told the PBC Podcast.

‘But everything is going great with it. That’s another thing, I’m focusing on recovery, getting myself back to full health.

He added: “Oh yeah, I can’t work out now. Once I get healed with my arm I’m looking forward to just working out, being able to do the things I love to do.

“Right now I’m just sitting back and getting taken care of, all meals being prepared for me, a lot of catering now between my fiancee and all the kids around me. It’s nothing we can complain of in this moment in time.

“I know we all in the world are going through something together, it’s the first time the world is going through the same things.

“We all have to survive and I love being around my loved ones through these tough times.”

Reports are just in that one of the flashing LED lights on Wilder's monster suit ripped his upper bicep on his ring walk and possibly may have ended his career.... It was a flashing red LED and Wilder is now claiming it weighed 14 lb alone

Lets assume the fight is off and Fury needs a new opponent for December. Who we saying?

Lucas Brown has been all over social media saying he's in the frame. I think I'd prefer another plucked from relative obscurity job.

Fury should take on Ruiz and show how it is really done.

That's not a bad matchup. All we got from AJ was a knockout loss, and an unsatisfying decision win in the rematch.

Maybe Ruiz could take this one seriously and not come in over 300 pounds.
