    Default Hagler vs Cyclone fight

A must win fight for Hagler. At 24, his last two trips to Philly had seen him lose to Boogaloo Watts and Willie Monroe. I like to watch Hagler because his right hand was his dominant punch, even when he fought southpaw. His way of fighting as a leftie has defined the way I teach guys to fight against southpaws.

Hagler was faster, moved and boxed a lot more in his younger days. This made him even better than when he was an older champion as I remembered him.

Hagler was a true pro. He could move very well and, if he needed, he could press you and fight you. he moved so well in this fight.

This hungry Hagler would have crucified Leonard. Sugar would not have contemplated taking on this version Hagler.

You can take the words from Hagler or Leonard and make that case quite convincingly. The quote that always makes it most obvious to me is after years of going to Hagler fights finally during the Mugabi fight Sugar Ray jumps up"I can beat him, I'm going to fight him". Ray doesn't seem to realize how much this statement actually says when he recounts the story. Basically he's admitting he wouldn't fight him until he was convinced Hagler lost enough in the ring.
