Whyte full on put his head into Allens face... and he showed more restraint than I've seen from nay boxer recently when that's happened...
Either very confident or a too nervey and iced up a bit... no idea which
Should be a good fight

Interview with Allen after the press conference https://youtu.be/TSA5pjhVxqs
So @ross, you went off the top board about this Allen fellah as per. You tried to have us believe that he was the second coming on the strength of him having a big mouth and cracking a few gags. Care to have a rethink?
Allen was respectful afterwards and made no excuses.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Allen had a sparring partner attitude in this fight, his chin is world class though.
Whyte was pissed he could not stop Allen, he hit him with everything he had and Allen took it.!
It probably did not do Allen's brain cells any good, he was limited but very tough.
The longer the fight was going the more frustrated Whyte got.
Is Whyte a World champ in waiting I don't think so on that performance.
I tried watching this yesterday, couldn't really get into it at all and skipped through most of it. Allen has a hell of a chin but not much else by the looks, still hard to tell how good Whyte really is imo. When he does load up he obviously has power, but he was doing a lot of arm punching and didn't really look to be all that comfortable or effective in there.
Whyte knew it was going to be hard to stop Allen so did do alot of arm punching as he was concerned about blowing out early. In fact had it been a 12 rounder and not just 10 he didnt look very strong in the last round and was starting to be bullied around more and more and taking more shots.
I think Allen showed more promise in that fight than Whyte did. I think that was only Allens 10th fight? On 3 weeks notice. Didnt have the output to win but with that experience he could go in with anyone and we know he will not fold early. Its an excellent base to build from. None of the other top heavies have the same kind of resiliance, all have been dropped, stopped, knocked out etc or in Joshuas case he got hurt by those same punches where Allen didnt.
I didn't see the fight and had completely forgot that David Allen was the White Rhino, I'll have to see if I can find the fight online.
I remember watching his last fight that was on telly and he seemed like a bit of a character so I'll be interested to see him against Whyte.
Last time I saw him he still looked like he had a few issues and it sounds like they still haven't been ironed out yet, still early days for him though
It was godawful. Allen had a sparring partner/journeyman mentality (he wasn't trying to win he was surviving) and Whyte doesn't have a change of gear. So we ended up with ten rounds of one-sided plodding.

Good interview. When he's natural theres a lot to like about Allen.
Allen looks as tough as old boots, his punch resistance looks good. Im not sure what else there is to him though. He doesnt box too well and his punch power is on the powderpuff side. He might wear guys down to get some wins but realistically, I cant see him getting past anyone at the top end of British level.
Whyte is a bit of a mystery right now. I've labelled him a fresher version of Chisora since day one, right now though, Im not even confident he beats the old Chisora, it'd be a toss up.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

A fresher Chisora was a good call, I was thinking about it during the fight and also thought Chisora might plod him out of it.
