King' Arthur's WBO Inter-Continental light-heavyweight title is on the line. Still the Commonwealth champion, Arthur won this WBO ranking title against Anthony Yarde in his last fight, who previously held the belt from 2017-2019, making five successful defences before vacating to challenge for the WBO world title.

There's two other WBO championship contests as South Londoner Archie Sharp (19-0, 9KOs) takes on 30-year-old stand-in opponent Diego Andrade Chavez (13-4-2, 1KO) for the WBO Global super-featherweight championship; and Derbyshire's Zach Parker defends his WBO International super-middleweight belt for the first time to Sherzod Khusanov (22-2-1, 10KOs).

Lyndon Arthur: “It’s a world title for Faraci and any of these guys who want to face me because they want my number one ranking. There is no pressure now that I am number one in the WBO rankings.

“The goal has always been the same, whether I am ranked number 10 or number one. The goal has always been to win a world title.

“Faraci has got a decent record, to be fair. He has beaten some undefeated kids and a few had winning records. He is coming to win and doesn’t know how to lose. I have to show him how to lose so I am excited for the fight.”

Manchester's Lyndon Arthur bettered his bitter rival Anthony Yarde in their December fight, by utilising his superb jab and intelligent range to pepper 'The Beast' all fight long to gain scores of 115-114 from two of the ringside judges.

The 30-year-old is unbeaten in 18 contests and is currently part of a thriving domestic scene that includes Olympian Joshua Buatsi and world title contenders Callum Johnson; Craig Richards; and former victim, Yarde.

Swiss-born Faraci, 29 from Lazio, is a former Italian light-heavyweight champion, unbeaten in 15 bouts. Managed by Toni Barbera, he is currently ranked as the best 175-pounder in Italy.

Lyndon Arthur can take centre stage in rival Anthony Yarde's absence

Arthur returns to action this weekend for the first time since his upset win over British rival Yarde at the end of last year

You have to feel for Anthony Yarde. To lose an opponent days before a fight is bad enough.

It’s even worse when your biggest rival gets to top the same Royal Albert Hall bill by himself.

Lyndon Arthur was an ‘opponent’ when he met Yarde in December last year. He totally upset the applecart with his shock split-decision victory.

He was brought in to give Yarde a workout after that battling first career loss two years ago against Sergey Kovalev for the WBO light heavyweight title.

Yarde pushed Kovalev hard, giving him plenty of trouble before the late stoppage and was expected to walk through Arthur.

That didn’t happen. Now Commonwealth champion Arthur is the one with a chance to be king.

He is a nice boxer. He injured his right hand in the fight with Yarde, which might explain his reluctance to unload.

He sparred a couple of weeks ago with Anthony Fowler up in Liverpool. Fowler was impressed with what he saw.

Davide Faraci is the perfect opportunity for Arthur to put on a show. Faraci is unbeaten in 15 but should not present too many problems.

It will be painful viewing for Yarde, who has lost a bit of impetus. The defeats hurt and the pandemic has not helped.

Yarde needed the fight with Emin Atra to get the show back on the road and to prove he has what it takes to go all the way.

Yarde needs to show some reliance and demonstrate he can take a punch as well as land one.

Arthur is much more orthodox, with good movement, a great left jab and a decent right hand.

The question is can he mix it at world level. The victory over Yarde was tantalising. The next 18 months will tell.

I want to see explosiveness and excitement as well as a decent boxing brain.

That is why Yarde is box office. He goes for it, knocks people over. Arthur has to deliver some of that.

There are loads of pretty boxers out there but no-one remembers them. He has to make us sit up and take notice.

The victory over Yarde catapulted Arthur to no.1 in the WBO rankings giving him first mandatory shot at the champion Joe Smith.

Of all the belt holders Smith gives Arthur the best chance to complete an astonishing rise.

It should also fuel Yarde’s ambition to get his career back on the rails. Smith was his target too.

Imagine if the next time Yarde and Arthur meet it is for the latter’s world title. That should be all the motivation Yarde needs to come back stronger.

Faraci is bravely surviving but hurt a lot in the 4th round.

Arthur slowed down in the 6th, probably taking a rest before he starts to pick up the pace. Faraci fought gamely and may have won the round.

Arthur stops his opponent in the 9th round with a big right hand to drop Faraci. He knocked him down with a left uppercut and ref stops him from taking further punishment.

Not a great performance overall from Arthur but there were some quality moments from him in the fight.

Archie easily out boxing Andrade in the 2nd round. This could go all the way. Sharp should not get caught by his opponent.

Sharp does a Herol Graham and throws his opponent in the air and could have injured him. He is getting careless and trying too hard for a spectacular knockout in the 5th.
