    Default Khan Champion again

Amir Khan reinstated as WBA junior welterweight champion - ESPN

They have stripped Peterson as champion and gave it back to Khan he will walk out as WBA champion going into his fight with Garcia thoughts?

    B.S in my opinion.

Again, Peterson was not caught with illegally high levels of testosterone - There were no advantages to be had etc etc same stuff I've gone over. Won't bother again.

He lost the title. They should have just made it vacant.

Peterson's team were stupid anyway for saying he was on it before.

There is no precedent and all these record changes just hurt the credibility of records. Records should stand with a * next to them. No need to go back and fiddle with shit.

Whether or not it was foul play by Peterson, the letter of the law does state that if he is using and has a Doctors order for it he needs to declare it before the other party and the state commission which he did not do (this of course is in regards to the original bout.)

If this was complacency or idiocy I don't know but as much I like Peterson he and his team messed this up and it is only fair that the champ gets his title back.

Peterson cheated to win the WBA title, Khan was the WBA champion, give him his strap back, to me it's simple.

This is obviously the correct decision.

Making the title vacant doesn't make sense because they would have ordered Khan-Johan Perez (1 and 2 rated). Perez isn't even independent top 10 rated at 140.

Who would prefer that over a unification battle between The Ring ranked 1 and 2?

Peterson got caught before the 2nd fight, there's no proof he was using for the first fight... is there? I may be a bit out of the loop.

Is the IBF vacant in this fight too? I heard Sky sports news saying it was for 3 titles yesterday now Khan has his WBA back.

What little credibility any sanctioning body has is not going to be improved by ignoring facts. To claim that Peterson gained no competitive advantage by taking PED's and so the belt should not be awarded to the previous owner, despite them being clean is frankly ridiculous. He cheated and even if you think he gained no physical advantage, he deceived everybody. Khan virtually bent over backwards to make sure he could not be accused of trying to secure an unfair advantage and yet people still would deny him any credit. Give the guy a break if you seriously have no axe to grind.

Honestly, this is the reason I am not as active in the boxing scene anymore... too much politics involved in the game. I already knew when GBP & the Khan camp protested after their loss that they were going to find a way to reinstate him as champ. This is the same BS they pulled on James Toney after he won the HW title (he was taking meds to heal two torn biceps from his previous fight, then went into training for Ruiz).

Khan or anyone should have to earn the title in the ring... simple and plain. He did not beat Peterson, and unless the decision is going to be overturned it simply does not make any sense, except to say that the WBA now gets to collect sanctioning fees from both fighters!

Am I the only one who notices that ONLY GBP and TOP RANK fighters are able to have decisions reversed and titles reinstated - without having to fight at all? Over the past few years, can you name anyone else who got a really bad decision and had it overturned?
