How Blumenthal's political career survived him saying that he served in Vietnam when in fact he did NOT is just astounding....who else would survive that? That's a huge deal and should be considered a violation of the Stolen Valor Act. But he's a Democrat so I guess alls well that ends well.

It's a swerve and distraction by Trump who oddly enough received as many deferments as Blumenthal. Difference is one of them went through boot camp at the very least. Back to point though a strategist for the White House assisting Judge Gorsuch confirmed the whole 'demoralizing and disheartening' comment as have two other Republicans. I think they were trying to put it out there ahead of confirmation or such and then it imploded on itself with Trump firing off.
