I think the guy has had a good innings but HBO need to let him go wtf was with the shit interviews after the fight? We just seen one of the fights of the year and asks the winner one fucking question then ends the interview

Merchant doesn't control the interviews, they have directors and a ton of backroom staff in charge of that, the broadcast must have been overrunning so they had to cut it short

Didn't think of that, so if thats the case I take that back about Larry, shame on HBO really suppose it was better than Primetime after the Froch fight with no interviews.

Dan Rafael wrote about this. As noted above, HBO producers made that call, not Merchant. They wanted time to preview their uncoming programs.

Pretty lame, after such a great fight.

That is very lame on HBO.

Since the Sopranos has been gone, only thing worth a damn on HBO is Boxing and Kenny fuckin Powers.

And Curb Your Enthusiasm and Real Sports of course.

    Yeah its getting dull.

Matter of fact, after the Israel interview I reckon Mick should get the job.

I do not remember what snide remarks I made in the past but today I feel that Merchant has earned the right to stay on as long as possible.

Still, if HBO sends him home for keeps I wouldn't be upset about it.

Love that show man. Merchant is OK with me now. I used to hate him but he's just so old, you might as well just let him do and say what he wants at this point. Kinda like Joe Pa.

The thing that annoyed me recently about Merchant was the manipulative way he asked Michael Katsidis if his recently deceased brother would be proud of his performance against Marquez. It was as if he was hoping to get some tears and emotion from me, and I found it quite offensive and innappropriate.

I just want to add that it's quite unusual in my part of the world to see such old men as TV hosts. I guess it's a US thing. The guy almost looks like he has trouble speaking.

We have Bruce Forsythe over here. I think he's 103 now.

    In hindsight I agree.

It was sort of a cruel and morbid thing to ask and to do to Katsidis.
