Default Who was the best? Barker, Macklin or Murray?

    @Primo Carnera

Who would have won the domestic showdowns?

Barker vs Macklin - Barker SD
Barker vs Murray - Barker SD
    Murray vs Macklin Macklin UD

Funny as I belive Murray was suited best for world level but In the domestic fights I think Barker would have been best.

Glad you're getting there @Vendettos ! You'll need a new pair of shoes at the end of it though.
Barker was also my favourite of the three of them. People used to add Andy Lee into that mix, but I think the only guy he would've stood a chance against was Macklin. For these 3 , I would've gone.

I would probably agree Barker being the best of the 3.

I preferred Macklin who was exciting and all action and you must remember his fight with Jamie Moore.

Murray was tough and durable but not very skilled.

GGG beat them all but they should have fought one another and become poor men versions Eubank, Benn and Watson.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

I've no picks really, the 3 would have been very evenly matched. Not to hate, but I feel if any of them had really been world class, they would have beaten Sergio Martinez, who I feel was a sitting duck as a middleweight champion. I know they all came close as well, but that kind of adds to my point.

Very arguable that Murray beat Martinez. In hindsight, I'd say he probably did.Murray was the best of the bunch IMO.Barker was too defensive and Macklin was reckless n eventually got where he'd quit.

I used to favor Macklin but Id probably favor Murray now. Barker, IMO, was the worst of the 3, despite being the only one to win a world title. I think Andy Lee is better than the 3 of them though.

Saunders and Eubank Jr are better than all Barker, Murray, Macklin and Lee.

Yes I think that is a fair statement.

    Sorry, I don't agree. Better than :
Lee - BJS yes, Eubank ?
Macklin - BJS probably, Eubank probably not.
Murray - BJS possibly , Eubank probably not.
Barker - BJS doubt it, Eubank no.
It's ok saying the modern crop are better, but what have either of them done to prove it? The difference is the Barker et al fought the best in the division , HOME OR AWAY, while today's 2 divas just talk about it.
Can you seriously believe that Barker, Murray, Lee and Macklin would've given up the opportunity to fight the best in the division?
If it was a hot air blowing competition, these 2 would probably beat Sugar Ray Leonard.

At least BJS and Junior have fought one another whilst the other 3 avoided domestic fights against one another and got beat by either Sergio or GGG.

Yep Id say so. Although Saunders v Lee was pretty close.
