    Default Fres vs the Chag

I'm looking forward to this Sunday and I'm glad the sorted everything out. Fres has been burnt more times then a blind man in a shell game. I hope he gets a fair call in Russia and walks away with a trinket to put on his mantle.

Yeah they flew out yesterday. That has got to be a few time zones. I hope Fres isn't still spent from the jet lag.

Got to hand it to Briggs for willing to sub. He's really trying hard to get in the mix. He probably smacks around most of the division.

Fres has all the ability but long trip, lots of chaos and long years. Maybe I'm cynical but if I had a fighter traveling over there rule number 1 would be bring your own food and sleep with one eye open.

Dunno, Briggs is just jumping at any relevancy. I think he goes toes up if-when he gets in serious. I don't know really how serious he was as his press release ends with If they want to pay me the Millions on such short notice given the heavyweight champion I was...so on or such. He's lacking oxygen if he thinks he has a million dollar payday ahead of him.

Briggs is still a BIG ? for stamina imo

Yes he went the distance with Love... But Love was just trying to survive, barely throwing... I don't think he will win if he fights someone credible

I would be shocked if Oquendo got anywhere near Chagaev, as poor a fighter as he is.

Chagaev should have an easy night.

    Chagaev takes this one.

I feel bad for Fres. He's been burned more than once in his career. In fact, every one of his decision losses have been somewhat disputed. He outlanded Toney, McCall, Holyfield, and Mormeck by a wide margin yet came up short with the judges.

I think Chagaev gets a legitimate points victory tomorrow.

If I'm wrong and the fight is close, it doesn't help Fres that Ruslan is buddies with the Chechen president Kadyrov.

His only chance is to box Chag from distance using his superior lead hand... but each time he throws it in combo, his right is WAY too far from hid head and that's a huge hole for Chag to exploit... Chag is a patient operator and should exploit that weakness

I don't understand why Oquendo flew out so late or why the fight was almost off. That's a long flight and he has done himself no favours. You can't feel decent flying so far the day before a flight.

Bobby Hitz tried to block the fight from happening with an injunction, and apparently he also had family problems...

he flew on friday late i think so he had all saturday to adapt...

Any real fighter won't dodge a title shot imo

Boxing News | Weights from Grozny: Chagaev 246, Oquendo 224.5

Ruslan not in the best of shape at 246 At 5'11" he should be no higher than 235.

Very few Heavies in the Top 20 are in true fighting trim, carrying all that flab into the ring with them...
