Default 25 best fighters of the last 25 years. Fact.

This list is from Tris Dixon the former editor of BoxingNews. He gives a brief summation/reason for each fighter on the link - The 25 best fighters of the last 25 years - | Boxing News - boxing news, results, rankings, schedules since 1909

I started out shaking my head but when it got to the top ten I started to realise why I was shaking my head at first - some seriously great fighters.

Floyd beats anyone in history from 130-147lbs, Roy Jones beats anyone in history from 160-175lbs. FACT.

And that's not what some of you want to hear, but it's true.

This list is overloaded with fighters from the New World.
I wonder what this list will look like in another 10, 15 or 25 years?

Why do you constantly let your enthusiasm pull you 'out of bounds'?

Roy didn't beat Tarver or Johnson, so it doesn't appear to be a fact.

I would not have Moorer on the list ever. He was wasted talent, with a china chin and had very little enthusiasm for the game.

Out of bounds? These are things I believe!

There's not a guy from 160-175 that I would pick to beat a prime Roy Jones, and there's not a guy from 130-147 I would pick to beat Mayweather.

Sure, there are guys that could have beat them. Hearns could have landed a right hand and knocked Floyd cold. Bob Foster could have landed a left hook and knocked Roy out cold. Anything can happen in a fight.

I'm just saying if I'm the bookie and Mayweather/Hearns is signed at WW, I'm putting Mayweather as the favorite. Roy Jones/Archie Moore at 175, I'm putting Jones as the favorite.

If people don't see it that way, that's cool. It's just my opinion.

Your original post stated your opinion as fact. That was why you got the responses you did. If you had said that in your opinion Roy and Floyd could have beaten anyone ever, then you probably would have only received counter viewpoints of other people's opinions. That being g said, you seem to become hostile of someone posts a differing opinion and immediately go on the offensive.

As for Roy beating anyone in history, due to his athleticism and unorthodox style I feel that any 160-168 pounder has big problems with Roy. One mistake and he can end it or hurt u so that u go on the defensive. That being said, when u look at the guys he fought, he stayed away from long, slick, good boxers. Roy was still as fast as ever in his first two fights w Tarver. He was prime. Tarver n Johnson ruined him. Watch the Eric Harding fight. Roy struggled until Harding dislocated his shoulder. Nunn and Liles were those type of fighters and Roy stayed well away. He also failed to fight G-Man, Benn, Collins, Eubank, Darius, Gracciano, Jirov to name a few. While I don't think Floyd was a duck, Roy definitely was. He had the potential to beat anyone head to head but fought pathetic opposition I his prime. He is ranked behind Hop, Pac, Floyd, Evander, Pea, JCC on my list of ATG fighters of his generation.

A million and one things to debate obviously, but what sticks out to me is that there are a lot of guys below Cotto on the list that I would have above him. The MAB/Morales thing is interesting . I was a MAB fan as opposed to Morales, but many would have it the other way round.

Agreed. I have Pea at or near the top. He was NEVER destroyed like Lennox was, even when fighting well past his prime. I have my daughters bday party to go to, but I definitely see some inconsistencies and bias in those rankings. I think they are pretty bad...
