    Default Wish list for 2024

What fights do you want to see in 2024?

    Benavidez v Morrell or Canelo

    Bivol v Beterbiev

I want to see Billy Joe Saunders back in action. I really do. Dunno why!? But the middleweight division needs him.

Connor Benn v Errol Spence. This can happen and will be a tell tale fight for both. We get to see if Spence still has it and if Benn has anything at all.

    Fury v Usyk, of course.

Joshua v Wilder. I would still watch, but it is not must-see-TV.

My wish for 2024 ? Well we can talk all day about fights we'd like to see but they ain't gonna happen

So forget about Boots vs Bud or Beterbiev Vs Bivol or Canelo Vs Benavidez they ain't happening next year

But things I wish or like to see in 2024 or in future years are

    1. No guaranteed purses.

Winner gets 75%, loser gets 25% of the total money involve, including gate receipts and PPV sales.

By doing this will remove the money issues and we will find out who's for real and who's just hype. Fighters who are not being supported by big networks will have a fair chance of making it big time. PROMOTIONAL HYPES will not be factor.

ONLY the real fighters will survive and will get recognition

    2. I would have boxers wrap their hands in rope and blue broken glass to them before the fight like in kickboxer.

    Chill, that was a joke

    Na seriously

    2. Cut down weight class to 11 not 17 we have now

    1. Minimum weight, 105 pounds (48 kg)
    2. Light flyweight, 108 pounds (49 kg)
    3. Flyweight, 112 pounds (51 kg)
    4. Super flyweight, 115 pounds (52 kg)
    5. Bantamweight, 118 pounds (53.5 kg)
    6. Junior bantamweight, 122 pounds (55 kg)
    7. Featherweight, 126 pounds (57 kg)
    8. Super Featherweight, 130 pounds (59 kg)
    9. Lightweight, 135 pounds (61 kg)
    10. Junior Welterweight, 140 pounds (63.5 kg)
    11. Welterweight, 147 pounds (67 kg)
    12. Junior Middleweight, 154 pounds (70 kg)
    13. Middleweight, 160 pounds (72.5 kg)
    14. Super middleweight, 168 pounds (76 kg)
    15. Light heavyweight, 175 pounds (79 kg)
    16. Cruiserweight, 200 pounds (91 kg)
    17. Heavyweight, unlimited

I don't think we should go back to eight weight division. I do think there should be a place for some "Super" or "Junior" weights. Frankly I hate using the word "Super" before weight divisions. I'm old skool I prefer "Junior"

It should be 11 weight categories, get rid of Super feather, Minimum weight and Light flyweight. I would get rid of the Crusier division, and raise light heavy to 180lbs

    1. Flyweight 112 pounds (51 kg)
    2. Bantamweight, 118 pounds (53.5 kg)
    3. Featherweight, 126 pounds (57 kg)
    4. Lightweight, 135 pounds (61 kg)
    5. Super lightweight, 140 pounds (63.5 kg)
    6. Welterweight, 147 pounds (67 kg)
    7. Super welterweight, 154 pounds (70 kg)
    8. Middleweight, 160 pounds (72.5 kg)
    9. Super middleweight, 168 pounds (76 kg)
    10. Light heavyweight, 180 pounds
    11. Heavyweight, unlimited

    3. The current champions need to fight more than two times per year.

Heavyweight champions like Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes averaged at least 3 championship fights per year. So, why not the current crop of heavyweight champions?

    4. No more interim/regular/diamond/gold etc belts.

Each body gives out one belt per division. Each division has 3 championships. (WBC, WBA, IBF). No more super champions or interim. Old timers or some people will say "one world champion per division like in the old days" problem is in the old days champs fought 6 or 7 times a year minimum. Boxing isn't gonna bk to that. Also as the magic of unification bouts will be lost too.
    .
    5. Rematch clauses are not allowed to be implemented in fight contracts.

No more RE-matchroom Eddie. I mean Eddie Hearn putting in rematch clauses for mandatory defences is outrageous.

    6. Lifetime bans + enormous fines for PED use.

So the risk of getting caught means you get bankrupted by the fines, and no longer have the ability to make more money. This will make it too risky to even try it.

    7. Have the judges watch the fight in isolation away from the crowd and on monitors so they all have the same viewing angle of the fight.

    Fights I want to see
    Alvarez v Benavidez
Crawford v Tszyu (Jermell won’t come back down to LMW, so it could be undisputed)
Opetaia to get his belt back and more , then in 2025 go up to HW
    Haney v Teo
    Shakur v Tank
Inoue v Nery followed by going up 1 more weight and becoming undisputed at a 3rd weight.

Fights I don’t give a shit about or don’t want to see.
    Any Youtubers
    Benn v Eubank
Benn v almost anyone until he addresses his issue with getting a BBBOC Licence
    Fury v Usyk
    Jarrell Miller v anybody
Any Brit undeserving of a title shot that jumps the queue just because of Georaphy and finance.
Mismatches like Hrgovic v De Mori. (It was a disgrace when Haye fought him and it’s an even bigger disgrace now!)

Wish this trend of boxers Fathers wanting and making themselves the center of attention would pass. That major fights would again return to major arenas like Barclays in NY and the MGM in LV. That some Saudi influence and purse strings would dry up a bit as they seem to lead a few top fighters to wait out. Also it dries up local fan bases on a personal attendance level and look to not accommodate the "every fan". Wish that fans would stop overrating and caring for the trinkets more than many fighters. Wish that the apps and streams would invest in bringing back guys like Jim Lampley, Al or Paulie to call some fights. Wish I had the attention span I had ten years ago .

Why is Naoya Inoue fighting Nery?

luis is the wbc mandatory, naoya is trying to clean out super-bantamweight, japan wants to punish luis for what he did to shinsuke yamanaka is that enough reasons? it's also supposed to be at the tokyo dome stadium. i think mike tyson v buster douglas was the last boxing event held there

Feels like it's been brewing but back at 118 for some time. Used to get talked up a bit. Inoue has proven he's also a monster headlining in Japan when it comes to numbers and while Nery is not where he was and off the brutal Hovhannisyan war, a good rivalry can translate. Love the fact he's defending full undisputed.

I was not being critical of the contest, was just wondering why the demand for it but it all makes sense.

Fighting where Tyson last fought and lost. Hope it is not an omen.

naoya's team had indicated before the undisputed fight that he would more than likely have at least two more fights at this weight before attempting to move to featherweight
