Yeah, real credit to him. I think people(myself included) really didn't expect he could take Lucas' best shots, but he was tough as nails, fearless and fought him in the pocket all night. He is the more compact fluid puncher and really is a warrior, not many fighters can/will commit to punching with a guy like Matthyse and win the exchanges, it was brilliant to watch him punch with Lucas and get better of it.

I just hope he isn't the next Mayweather opponent, he would have absolutely no chance in hell there. Great little action fighter, but he would never get anywhere near Floyd. If he had been in the ring instead of Floyd tonight, Canelo would have beaten him to a pulp, just think about the disparity there. Floyd does not need to fight limited 140 pounders at this point in his career, no matter how exciting they are against others.

Garcia is brilliant, he's got where he is the hard way. He's not fashionable, but he's tough as nails and has real skills. Fair play to him

I picked Garcia in this fight. It was a great win for Garcia but I think he has some things to work on.

First and foremost, could he have won without the dirty tactics? Matysses eye was closed because of a headbutt. Not to mention many low blows. Accident? Lmao, from a fighter like Garcia I think not. Dont get me wrong, I think tactics like this should be expected. These guys train to almost kill each other. Boxing is the most physical sport in the world and thats just how combat sports are, expect anything else and your in the loss colum. Basically what I am saying is this is the least of my worries about Garcia.

NUmber one worry I have is Garcia seen everything Matysse had to offer by round 4. If he would have stayed technical and opened up more with his combinations he may have finished the fight.

The fight played out basically how I envisioned. Garcia was stronger and tougher. imo he should have stayed on the inside more.
