Keep it varied... it's harder to dodge shots on the inside, especially if you are taller... so it comes down to blocking and parrying.

Mix it up, head and body... don't just flow left right left right...

I like to throw hard to the head to bring the guard up because my body shots are the hardest

Don't really know the best inside combos, some of the ealier listed

hmmm..i usually block alot of the shots and try and time them, then hit them as they're about to punch as their bodies open

a good one tho is jus to throw left hook, right hook to the body as fast as i can moving up to their head and movin out of the way

If you're tight in the clinche it's not all that important about the combinations as much as it is about finding the windows. There's a beautiful little button on every person.....under the rib cage...right side of the body. push and see what happens. Make that liver quiver.

Left hook to body (hit them slightly low on the hip), right uppercut .......... fantastic, especially if he has turned his head to look at the ref or complain.

As always, correct me if I'm wrong guys. Take my advice with a grain of salt, as I just started this boxing stuff. Just learned this one tonight though, so I figured I'd throw it out there.

When clinched in tight, look for the opening to throw the right uppercut. Follow up quickly with the left hook and right cross. Spent some of my time sparring tonight trying to work on this combo, and I can see how it would work well.

Kinda off topic, but I didnt want to start a new thread.

What are some good outside fighter combos?

    And,

Being an outside fighter, should you keep your ground, or give it up when it gets sticky?

    Thanks

    outside combos are easy

    jab jab right
    jab right jab right
jab right to the face and jab right to the body

    basically long punches

Didnt think anyone was gonna say it. But I love the right uppercut, left hook combo. Gotta throw em real close together. If you can manage it, what THEORETICALLY happens if the uppercut will hit, lifting his head up for your left hook to catch square on the jaw. Follow up with a right cross as needed. Doesn't work often (its boxing....he's trying to not get hit and hit you as hard as you are trying), but when it does, it usually leads to an early night.

Other than that, I'm a big fan of a short jab, cross, followed by the left hook to the body for the liver shot. Hopefully you can keep his hands up there long enough to catch it.

Lesse....one that worked well recently was actually throwing a lot of left uppercuts to his body (3 or 4 in a row), then going with the good ole uppercut to the chin. Once again, something most people won't fall for (and I've always felt a bit awkward throwing "uppercuts" to the body), but its something worth trying every now and then hoping to catch him anticipating the body shot.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

let those hand go. change it up... if you in tight and he is leaning in, shoot that upper cut .. a good uppercut will cash many checks ! its the most under thrown punch , but one of the most effective when thrown correctly and thrown at the right time. it can short out the system of your opponent rather nicely , just don't shoot it from a long distance or you might end up looking up at the lights.
