Default Was Oscar drunk/high or is he getting punchy?

Anyone catch his interview with Jim Gray before the Trout/Canelo fight? I'm used to hearing the smooth talking, articulate Oscar. Was kinda shocked to hear him speaking much slower, repeating himself, searching for words/concepts, putting emphasis on the wrong words... is this how he talks now adays or was he just fucked up?

This is going to sound ignorant, but he sounded like he was trying to emphasis a thick accent

i thought he may have been trying to sound insightful and profound in a larry merchant kind of way.

his accent seemed thicker to me also.

I listened to a bit of it, it did seem somewhat strange, maybe he was having a bad hair day or something, who knows.
One thing that can't be denied, "fishnet boy" has been good for boxing, his PPV revenue from boxing generated something like 700 million, the highest amount for any boxer in history. De La Hoya also defeated 17 world champions and won ten world titles in six different weight classes, gotta respect him for that.

For sure, boxing survives on the backs of it's superstars and Oscar was definitely one of the flagbearers for the sport after the demise of the stars from the 80's and Tyson. Big respect to him, he was always articulate and well spoken, which is why I was shocked to hear him jumbling words and speaking much slower.

I think he was drunk. He was trying to add drama to whatever it is he was talking about and being he was drunk it sounded bad. As for the thick accent I think it just rubbed off on him for the night after being in San Antonio for a few days and being drunk
    The key is Self-discipline.

I didn't notice him being punchy, he just wasn't rehearsed. He did brag about hitting Floyd with his jab all night when he was famously quoted for saying after the fight "It just wasn't the night of the jab"
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I like Oscar well enough and certainly respect what he's accomplished, both in and out of the ring. I have mixed feelings when I hear Bob Arum call Oscar stupid, although there's a bit of truth to that, and it's funny, Arum is still being a patronizing asshole. I'd like to see Oscar tell the old fart to go fuck himself, or better yet give him a bitch-slappin'.
