When was this??
No idea. I think last year
Matthysse had him!!
I know it looked like he could have ended it. For a puncher he can sure box.
Can't wait for the Garcia fight now, not long to go !!!
*It's sparring guys.. that's it... and hardly sparring at that.
It's interesting to watch, but it probably has no deeper meaning. You don't know at what stage this in in whoevers camp. Sparring is to tune you up and get you used to being in the ring again, so it wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of top boxers to have serious off days in sparring and especially earlier on in a camp. Martinez didn't look very sharp, but Martinez takes rounds off in fights, I am sure sparring is no different in that regard.
Exactly. Its interesting to watch.
This was Martinez doing his countryman a solid. Matthysse is a solid boxer puncher and really doesn't get full credit for it but he was there to shine, Martinez kicked into his cocky swagger mode at 1:30 but with a wink. Good footage.
@Tam Seddon @IamInuit
Jim Lampley or Max Kellerman noted during the Alexander fight that Matthysse had sparred with Matrinez for or before the Alexander fight.
