As good as Roy looked against Ruiz, I don’t think he will beat Usyk. Usyk is a great boxer with an Olympic pedigree, plus he has a significant size advantage on Roy. I see Usyk taking a few rounds to get used to Roy’s speed and unorthodox style, but I see him imposing his will and touching Roy much more often than the limited Ruiz could. I also feel like Roy’s chin would be susceptible to Usyk’s hardest punches.

Roy was smaller and did have issues with southpaws but that never stopped him moving up the weights and beating the best fighters around him. Tough fight for Roy but think he could pull it off against smaller or newer heavyweight champions.

Think Roy sneaks 7-5 rounds with his unconventional movement, athleticism and speed.

I cannot see Roy getting his mind and even phenomenal reflex around a total package Usyk. What benefits Usyk too is he knows the later path Roy traveled, and he didn't do it as a one off, but rather dominated the weight range Roy was vs Ruiz first. And we have to talk about the elephant in the room..it wasn't like Roy fully completely "dominated" 175 either. There was a ton of politics almost setting the table with wbc and wba etc. He spent about 4 years there sort of running numbers up with his career high hbo contract and honestly it almost felt he grew a bit board to the point of signing the fight with Buster Douglas originally. In a way, he had hit his ceiling and not just weight wise. Usyk as southpaw way too shifty and wouldn't get sucked into the "awe" factor like a few did vs Roy. The straight multi punching and natural hand speed with both short and long constant angles and shifts of Usyk would prove a big bridge too far for Roy.

as good as roy looked that night against the limited quiet man i think he struggles as the rounds progress & oleksandr gets into his swing. i think roy was good enough to last the distance & win a few of the early rounds but oleksandr is very good in the twelfth round & could force a stoppage
