A completely average boxer the size of Valuev can beat the Rock
It would be like a T-Rex trying to scratch it's bollocks.
I am 6'3" and 196, 50 years old. Give me 90 days of good sparring and I'll give Valyuev a boxing lesson. If I hadn't had quadruple bypass surgery, I'd knock the big dummy out.
The only way that lummox could beat Marciano is if he pushed him down and sat on him.
Agreed. Rocky would split his appendix.
@greynotsoold
Help me with a paragraph please my friend. Need your advice.
I'm 5 foot 6, and was told 147 should be my fighting weight by an ex-Olympic boxer -turned-trainer. I'm 51 now and weigh a horrific 198 pounds.
Please give me a boxing diet so I can save my life and lose 50 pounds. Fuck I'd settle for losing 40 pounds.
I think Rocky gets on the inside and uses bully tactics to be more busy and win the fight if the judges are fair. Just watch out to not get tangled in all that chest hairs...

How could Marciano miss that huge body? Valuev is a huge strong guy but slow and plodding. Not easy but everyone knows Rocky was a hard worker, no job was too big or too small.
Marciano would get to the body and break him down, but it would look like a total freakshow and he probably would have a really hard time with the size, I'm not even sure he could hit Valuev on the chin. I wanted to see Toney fight him for the same reason, years back. I don't think I scored a single one of Valuevs notable fights in his favor come to think, he really couldn't fight at all.
I think the smaller and faster against Valuev the better.
Like a 12/15 round decision win for Rocky.

You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
Valuev to win a majority decision and retain the WBA belt :S no idea how many rounds he would actually win though...
This does sound like it would be a really interesting fight though, valuev is huge and crap and rocky was a foot shorter and over 100 pounds lighter...
I feel really sorry for Nikolai Valuev.
He is the modern day Primo Carnera, a freakishly huge guy whose career was marketed and run on only that basis. Not a skilled or natural fighter/boxer, but who nevertheless worked as hard as they could, maximised their talent and were as brave as they come when taking beatings.
Did you know that Carnera had gigantism (an overactive pituitary gland, just like Robert Wadlow) that resulted in freakish growth but ironically left them quite physically weak? Carnera got physically bullied by elite level fighters. He ended up in horribly poor health due to his physical condition.
Valuev was never a very good talent, and he never had good stamina. He won fights due to his sheer bulk. He took a horrible beating many times in his career, but always stumbled through to the red through some gutsy efforts. He was never really much good as a fighter. It's never been said, but he certainly had gigantism too. Acromegaly or something like that.
Since he retired, he has had some horrendous health problems caused by his acromalegy (spelling?). His joints are fucked, his hips and knees are knackered.
Despite those disabilities, he was a brave and committed fighter with a fighters heart. That's all the more impressive when you dint have a fighters physique, talent or health.

If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
I too always felt sorry for Carnera and Valuev.
Big brutes with disorders and big hearts.
