    Default Froch vs hopkins..

Reports show that promoter eddie hearn will not entertain a fight with hopkins due to weight issues and mentioned that 48 year old hopkins should fight cleverly instead.

Eddie certainly recognises the danger that hopkins still presents.

Your thoughts on how a froch vs hopkins fight would play out..

@imp - it's not fair to suggest that Froch should go up in weight to face Hopkins, then to say in a different thread that Mayweather shouldn't go up in weight to face Canelo. In my opinion, if a fighter can make weight comfortably, he shouldn't be criticized for fighting at that weight. If Froch walks around at 170, and can make 168 without an issue, then he shouldn't be criticized for not jumping up to 175. Has he ever fought at 175 before?

That is very magnanimous of Edward with Warren being Cleverlys manager and all that.

This is all getting a bit silly, good luck to Bernard still making money at 48. Why should Froch fight him? Get brownie points for bashing up an old man? Take risks at a higher weight? Lets leave that to Cleverly, who although about half Bernards age may need the same help from the judges that Joe Calslappy got. Boxing fans know who's quality and who's not nuff said.

In my opinion no fighter should be changing weight unless he has cleaned up the division and there is nobody else to fight worth while.

Rantcatrat, what on earth are you talking about!!

Its a thread! I havent suggested that froch does anything.
    Read my post again.
Its a discussion on how the fight would go if these two ever met in the ring!?
I am a fan of froch and hopkins and would like to see this fight like many others and never suggested that froch is DUCKING hopkins.

Froch walks him down and stops him.

Simple, Froch has a rock chin and Hopkins punches like a fairy now.

Calzaghe KO Record = 32 KOs in 46 fights
Hopkins KO Record = 32 KOs in 63 fights

    Calslappy?

I'd rather get punched by Hopkins to be fair. What's that, 10 years since his last knockout?

Calzaghe has been retired for 5 years and his last KO was only 7 years ago.

    Dry your eyes mate.

Froch has bigger fish to fight like Ward, Bute and possibly a decider against Kessler. He will then move up in weight.

Froch has said he'll retire after his next few fights.

    He won't move up.

They all say that but money talks and if Cleverly establishes himself at the light heavy then it will be a naturally big fight and we all know Carl can't resist.

Something tells me this fight won't happen. I'm not too fussed if it doesn't either. I would prefer froch to go after ward again if he can beat Kessler.

Agreed Hopkins wants fighters that come to him and Carl would do that but just imagine a fight between Hopkins v Ward, no one would watch.
