Default 5 Reasons why ESPN/ SportsCenter is getting on my nerves

    1. Their infatuation with Tiger Woods.

    2. Neil Everett. Just looking at the guy makes me want to beat the shit out of him.

    3. Their beating up of Dan Snyder. The Washington Redskins have been around for 82 years... but only now is everyone in an uproar against the team name. Stand your ground, Dan!

    4. Their grudging acceptance of soccer. I still don't forgive them for not making Robin Van Persie's header against Spain in the World Cup their Top Play of the Day. Instead, they put some stupid baseball play.

    5. Tiger Woods and Neil Everett again.

It's a US sports channel, Tito. Asking for decent coverage is like asking for balanced news from CNN. If the channel is on the television, then you should automatically discard it. I only watch mainstream television to help me fall asleep at night as they repeat the same lines with a break every 3 minutes. It serves its function, just as long as I remember not to get angry. Inducing sleep is the only use. You should maybe change channels or just go online and watch what you want to watch.

    Ok, so that's either:

    a) A poke at someone who said Texas University when it's actually University of Texas (alumni are sensitive about that sort of shit).

    b) Sarcasm, since you being a Longhorn fan (right?) you'd actually welcome any love from ESPN.

    or

    c) Neither, if you're actually an Aggie instead and I had you pegged wrong all along.

    :-)

BTW..... Tiger is on the verge of missing the cut at the PGA Championship.

    Sweeeeeeet.

Enlighten us non-Texans. Maroon would be the Aggie color... yes?
Whereas UT's color is "burnt orange"?

#1 ESPN has become far too political and is covering non-sports related stories. But this is true of most sports casters/commentators/writers they have always been and will always be nerdy bleeding heart liberals....yeah I'm looking at you Bob "Gun free" Cost-ASS

#2 They started off with smugness and sarcasm and it has eaten them alive and destroyed the whole idea of just covering sports.

#3 Predictions, straw men, and fantasy sports...Skip Bayless WILL play Devil's Advocate EVERY SINGLE TIME!

#4 They allow their broadcasters to play favorites

#5 They don't believe in sports...maybe they never did. They whine on endlessly about concussions, players unions, team names, and the biggest bee in their bonnet? NCAA teams against FBS teams in warm up football games/ games to prepare teams for a tough season. If you don't have David & Goliath games then all the little Davids out there never get a chance to win! See App State vs Michigan....never happens if ESPN has their way.

I LOATHE ESPN...can't wait for that station to die. Just like MTV...it took a great idea and made it into something obnoxious!

I'm conflicted on the Big 5 exclusive scheduling. On one hand you are going to get more competitive schedules and simply getting 10 wins will become a bigger achievement. Assuming we go the route of every conference having a championship game, and an 8 game playoff w/the 5 champions plus 3 at-large bids I don't see an exclusive big 5 schedule hurting a teams chance to play for the title. You could lose all your OOC games and win your conference and still play for/win the national title. On the other hand, can smaller schools and those outside of the Big 5 stay afloat financially much less be relevant in the CFB world? Hell a lot of Big 5 schools really need those extra home games that small schools provide to stay in the green financially. It undoubtedly creates a have and have-nots world in CFB but to a certain extent that already exists. Take Tim Deruyter at Fresno State. He has really got them competing but even a decade of 10 win seasons isn't going to get them in the same financial ball park as the top half of the Big 5. Hell Boise has had a great decade but still need to go undefeated, start ranked high enough and hope enough teams above them lose to even smell a national championship game.
