Default Cotto vs. Canelo is officially signed for November 21st

Cotto-Canelo Finalized - Signed, Sealed and Set, 11/21 - Boxing News

Fantastic fight if you ignore that it's at 155lbs and the middleweight title is on the line. I'm a big fan of both fighters but I can only see 1 outcome. I expect Cotto to have some early success but I can see Canelo grinding him down to a mid to late round stoppage. Opponent level wise, Canelo really is on the fast track to superstardom. The kid has a huge set. Credit to Cotto for giving the fans what they want.

Yeah... it's finalized. I like your analysis..... I hope you're wrong.... but I like your analysis.

I expect Cotto to have early success also. He's a much better boxer than Canelo, but gives up a few key factor, including youth, size, the "shop-worn" factor... and probably chin at this point. Cotto's taken quite a few hits on it over his career, while Canelo's still relatively fresh. He also has a naturally good chin. That to me will be a key factor, because I feel Cotto will hit that chin early and often.

I imagine Canelo will be a solid betting favorite from now until fight time, so I guess Cotto winning would have to be considered somewhat of an upset. Obviously I'll be cheering for Cotto... but he's gonna have to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages and be on his A+ game in order to pull it off.

One thing for sure. Unlike Floyd-Pac, this will be a hugely fan-friendly fight.

This is the fight I want to see. Cotto has been in with the worlds best time and time again. Canelo is young and full of fight. He also is a skilled fighter. It's going to be a great fight.

Great news. I'm glad they got it done. I'm in agreement that it should be a fan friendly fight. Alvarez on points or a late stoppage.

I hope Cotto wins and can pull off an upset. Miguel is old but wise and think he can out box the young gun.

You are wise my friend. That's what makes the match up so good.

COTTO IS GONNA GET KNOCKED THE FUCK out IN A SAD FIGHT, WHERE cOTTO IS SLOWLYworn down and then eliminated from boxing. I fear for the guys well being. This will be bad.

My heart is where master's reply.

But logic, father time and Brockton begs to differ.

I'm pulling for Canelo because I'm really hoping he can be the next superstar and help carry boxing in a post-Mayweather/Pacquiao world (yes, despite what some might thing, boxing needs guys to generate money and interest).

What worries me about Canelo in this is his questionable stamina. If he fades going down the stretch against a guy like Cotto it's not going to be pretty. Especially if Cotto is banging the body like he normally does.

I heard Cotto is getting in the neighborhood of 30 million. Great to hear these guys getting mega paydays. Not bad for a guy that people (including myself) were calling to retire 3 years ago.

Really really like this fight. Cotto has the depth to show Alvarez up early on but physically I believe it all catches up to Cotto. Alvarez needs to find a fookin attitude in this one, stop watching, and form then force the issue, especially to the body!
