Could they not have found a better opponent for Jarrett Hurd than Jason Welborn? Especially since that fight is for multiple world titles (IBF, WBA "Super" and the IBO).

Two years ago in 2016, Welborn lost to William Warburton. Why is Jarrett Hurd fighting a guy who lost to a boxer with 126 losses?

    Here's Warburton's record: http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/491580

What's the point of a world champion taking a fight like this? It's the very worst of several ugly mismatches on this boxing event.

Hurd has been injured so he is taking an easy fight. I don’t mind the fight but it shouldn’t be on a PPV undercard. And Hurd is making a million dollars off of it.

Nuttier is current #1 mandatory wbc and ibf Julian Williams buried on undercard in an 8 rounder vs a guy Spence knocked out at welter 4 yrs ago. Hurd needs to make the big fights while his beard holds up.

Hurd-Welborn is a ridiculous, pointless mismatch. How is it even possible these privileged fighters get so much for so little (a million quid for this?). Amazing. And certain people will have you believe these guys get "ducked." Incredible.

Hurd will literally have to not throw a punch to carry Welborn.

5/4 rounds 1-4 (to be beyond safe), if that doesn't land I give up.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder ‘could have an immediate rematch’ due to unusual clause in their contracts

It is understood both fighters will be able to demand a rematch in the event of their first professional loss

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder could meet in an immediate rematch regardless of who wins their WBC heavyweight title fight.

The rivals finally take to the ring on Saturday evening at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and it is understood that, unusually, both fighters have rematch clauses in the event of their first professional defeat.

While the most common circumstances are for the defending champion, in this case Wilder, to have such an option, it has also been extended to the 30-year-old Fury, who had not planned such a dangerous fight so soon into his comeback and who is still regarded by some as the division’s lineal champion.

It is even likely that a London football stadium, like where Anthony Joshua has established himself as the IBF, WBA and WBO champion, would be considered as the venue for a potential rematch in the spring.

Both fighters have again this week been critical of Joshua for, in their view, being unwilling to risk bouts against either of them, and also discussed their willingness to fight each other in a rematch.

Also considering the potential for a rematch, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren said: “It’s a great fight and if it turns out as I expect I’m sure there’ll be a rematch.

“I would love it to be in London; if it’s a good fight straight into a soccer stadium.

“If Wilder loses he’d have to make a statement. Tyson would fight anywhere; he’s a traveller, he’s done it many times.

“I don’t think Wilder wanted to come to London, that’s why Tyson (travelled).

“Tyson will fight in the UK again.”

    Still cant call this one!
Wilder is always gonna be one punch away from a KO win but Fury can nullify everything he tries by spoiling, frustrating, hugging/sapping his energy and boxing him silly but can he do it against a livewire for 12 rounds.
I can see Wilder banging him out early too.
Would love to see Fury win this.
Im hearing its likely to start around 5.30 UK time too.

Whoever is in charge of pushing this fight has done a great job. At first it seemed like a joke. Fury was obviously nowhere near ready to face a top HW. Now, many people think that Fury not only has a chance to win but that he will win.

I haven’t changed my opinion on this fight from the beginning. Wilder will get him out of there early. Fury was never a great fighter. He has a great win though. Now after a long layoff of getting fat and doing cocaine, he won’t even be the decent fighter he once was.

The PPV show starts at 11:30pm but I'm guessing there will be a shit load of build up first, anyone got any idea what time the first fight is due to start?

I can't see wilder winning this, he's just not very good, Fury to lean on him and stop him in the second half of the fight. 213 lbs is pretty light and fury will be able to grab him pretty easy.

Does Tyson have enough movement , boxing ability, reflexes after the layoff?
He's got slighty better reach, and used to be able to switch hit smoothly, another thing that can confuse Wilder if Fury can still do it.

In an interview with Holyfield , Lennox Lewis advised against switching, but its something that might come later into a fight if Tyson can still use it.
